I received an invoice by mail at my office today in the amount of $ 1,220.96 for HP Printer Toner. QTY: 2 that I did not order and did not receive. The date the invoice was received was 06/26/17, yet the invoice is dated 05/12/17 and states due "Upon Receipt". The price of $598.99 per toner cartridge is so over the top that it's more than 5 times what I recently paid for it from a reputable, local vendor. But the Premium Freight Charge of $ 22.98 for expedited shipping by UPS is actually less than what one would have to pay UPS, even for ground shipping. The reaosn is that these cartridges are large and heavy for my HP Laserjet 5550 color printer. The HP P/N they used was HP C7930A, which is for a roll of HP Plotter Paper, not toner for my HP 5550 printer. Yet, the line item description states: "HP Laserjet 5550 DN Supplies". Interestingly, the sales tax is listed as zero.

The invoice has my correct business name, employee name (the president), and company address. The invoice states that a 10% discount will be given for all electronic payments including credit card and electronic check or bank transfer payments. Moreover, a flyer was included entitling the recipient to a free $100 VISA gift card just for providing the person's name and phone extension along with payment of the invoice. Since the invoice is fraudulent, this gives incentive to an otherwise careful employee topay the invoice with no questions asked to get the $100 gift card. The 10% discount for electronic payments gets them more credit cards and bank accounts to fraudulently charge, Im sure.

Another strange thing is that the invoice states that: "Supplies are warehoused at no charge until delivery is requested, Shipped Overnight". This phrase was probably added in an attempt to minimize jail time when caught. Although no goods were shipped to me and full payment is demanded o nreceipt, they can say the terms were that they held the goods till they were asked for by the buyer.

I recall a few weeks ago getting a call at my office from someone selling me toner and telling me that they were our firm's longtime and regular supplier of tomer. I told them they were not as I buy all the toner myself on an as-needed basis and do not have it delivered by a regular supplier. I eventually hung up on them and thought nothing more of it until today when the mail came.

The company name on the invoice is: "IT MGT", but before I wrote this report, I read nearly identical reports on this website from a firm called ""Systems Logic Inc." Interestingly, on the back side of the very professional looking invoice, there are pre-printed terms and conditions and the fraudster did a lousy job during the name change as some of the back-side text uses the correct name on the invoice front (IT MGT), but other paragraphs on the back refer to Systems Logic Inc.

Moreover, after mistakenly using the old name Systems Logic Inc, the terms state the laws of the State of California shall be used and any lawsuits shall be brought in the County of Los Angeles. Well, it just so happens that Los Angeles is where the old comapny "Systems Logic Inc" was located. The new firm called "IT MGT" is listed in Carson City, Nevada.

It's very obvious that the old firm got caught too many times, decided to move and change company names, then set up shop in Carson City under the new name. They old firm also included a flyer for a free $100 gift card. The only difference was that it was an AMX gift card and not VISA and that the flyer was letter size versus 1/3rd letter size flyer I got from the new firm.

Obviously, a Nevada firm wouldn't want to have disputes settled in Los Angeles County, CA using California Laws. They were in such a hurry to change the name on their invoice design that they didn't even proof read the new version.
