I used to be a loyal customer of It Works, and received their Ultimate Body Applicators by autoship. The wraps (which didn't work for me) started to pile up because they refused to cancel my autoship, saying I was contractually obligated to stay on the program for a certain length of time.

As soon as I could, I canceled my account with It Works, and then in an attempt to recover some of my costs for the wraps, I began to sell them on eBay. I used my own images. I stuck to a generic description.

I sold a couple of wraps, and then I got an eBay message from ItWorksCompliance saying: -------------------------------------------------

Dear xxxxxxxxxxxxxx,

It has been found that you are selling It Works products in a manner that is non-compliant with our policies and procedures According to the It Works policies and procedures our products are not allowed to be sold on eBay. Unfortunately, selling through eBay is against policy 23. This is to protect our company integrity, brand name, and to keep our product exclusive. Please remove your products immediately from these venues.

23. eBay / Online Auctions You may not list or sell It Works products on eBay or other online auctions, nor may you enlist or knowingly allow a third party (customer) to sell It Works products on eBay.

Thank you for your prompt response in this matter!

Sincerely,

It Works! Global Compliance Department compliance@itworks.net

- itworkscompliance ----------------------------------------------------------------------

When I responded that I was not contractually obligated to It Works, they said that it doesn't matter, and the no one can use their brand name on eBay. eBay promptly canceled my auctions.

This is a HUGE abuse of eBay's VEro program. I am disgusted. I have a pile of wraps that don't do a thing for me, and apparently I can't sell them. How is this fair?

It works is absolutely amazing a company that goes from a million dollar company to a billion dollar company in a year must be doing something right. Also I have over 100 Loyals and 5 out of them have had an issue simply bc they don't follow directions or they feel like there is a need to be a pain bc they didn't follow directions or read the info correctly. Like she said a pile lol use them. Anything now a days has causes health problem. Microwaves are bad for us but I'm sure you have one of those in your home. Stop blaming others and take responsibility for your own actions.

Bought these and threw them away after researching them

AUTHOR: Legal eagle - ()

POSTED: Friday, February 20, 2015

I bought these from a friend of mine who was thrilled to own her own Buisness. She was so excited, and her excitement was infectious. I am a law student, and so I decided to research them before using them. Johns Hopkins had a lot to say about these "so called miracle wraps." They said the results are not permanent, and that users face a huge risk of dehydration EVEN if they are drinking water while using them. They went on to name several problems that can ensue from continued use. I trust this RENOWNED medical center more than I trust a distributor that works for the company.

try more

I am an it works distributor. First of all, how do you know the wraps dont work if you're sitting on a pile of them? Four wraps is a full treatment.. Some people dont see anything until their 12 wrap. Try more! Second: are you drinking half of your body weight in ounces while wrapping? You should be doing this for 72 hours after you wrap for best results. Are you taking before and after pics? wraps won't work without water. and some people need more wraps before results are achieved.. you wrap until your happy with your results!

option available

AUTHOR: Bravo - ()

There are always options.  I know it doesn't help after the fact, but you opted out with the membership fee or switched to a different product to finish your contract.

Part of your loyal customer agreement was that you would not sell the product. Only Independent Distributors (with It Works business license) have the legal right to do so.  Even they are bound by regulations, one being that sales on Ebay is forbidden.  If they are caught, their business license and commissions will be forfeited.

This is not only for brand security and distributor profits but also for safety of consumer.  I have heard personally from people that bought some of these products from Ebay sellers.  A few receved outdated / inappropriately stored items and even more paid for product they never recieved.  Rules are usually rules for a reason.

You do still have an options left for your over abundance of product.  Maybe one of your friends or family would like to try it before signing up.  Even if it didn't work for you, they may have different results.  Try contacting the distributor you signed up under and see if they are interested in refunding you personally.  The wraps are in high demand and it's never a bad thing for them to have exras on hand.

I bought It lWorks off of eBay my experience

AUTHOR: Dave''''s Wife - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 27, 2013

I bought the It works brand off of eBay and the seller was kind of rude and offered no help when I emailed her. The wraps didn't work for me at all. I followed all directions and still no luck. I bought a brand called Lucalean (also on eBay). The wrap was shipped very quickly and the seller kept in contact with me offering help if I needed any. #1 the Lucalean worked GREAT. #2 It is WAY cheaper than It Works. As my husband said-seems like a no-brainer to me.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Think again....

AUTHOR: Tammy - (United States of America)

To the distributor who responded about how pleased they are with It Works diligence in keeping the company's products off eBay, you might want to look again. Ebay is currently swarmed with people trying to unload this overpriced and ineffective product. I was listing a couple jars of Lucalean Body Wrap a few months ago (which actually DO work and cost a fraction of the price). These jars were close to expiration and I knew I wouldn't use them in time so I put them on eBay-clearly stating the expiration date was a couple of months away. I started getting nasty emails from It Works distributors telling me I couldn't list "their" body wraps. It was very obvious it was a different brand but they didn't care. Just awful-I reported them, of course, but I don't know what happened to them. Anyway, at that time I did a search on eBay and there were no It Works auctions listed. If you search today there are TONS of them-I don't know if It Works found they had no legal leg to stand on or if they just said to heck with it. I would not waste time or money on these wraps regardless of the price due to the fact that every one of their reps appear to be rude and crude. I am sure that is probably not the case with all of them, but so many of them act that way I wouldn't want to risk it-especially when the Lucalean actually works and the company is great.

You agreed not to sell the products when you signed up

AUTHOR: annarainey - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, September 13, 2012

It is very clearly stated in your contract to be a loyal customer that you will not resell these products.  That is why ebay pulled your listings.  You were in breech of contract.  Also, you could have lessened your order or bought something else. They are trying to protect both the brand, and the jobs of many distributors that work very hard for them.  I appreciate that I work for a company that protects me as a distributor from people that want to buy our products and sell them in online auctions.  There are many items you can't sell on ebay and that ebay will pull an auction on.  It works is one of them and I think it is great the company keeps up with it and protects us out here feeding our families with the income we make on this job.  God bless.
