Italia Pavers, Alexander DaSilva charge $19,000 for pavers around pool that SANK in areas Bayport New York

I hire Italia in the spring of 2003 to pave around my new pool and build a retaining wall. Job was completed and the pool was covered for the winter. In the spring of 2004 cover was removed and to my surprise areas of Cambridge pavers had sunk.

I call Italia and was placed on a repair list for the summer at the end of the season. This way Italia could begin all their new jobs and my kids could enjoy our new pool.

Italias crew didn't show up till early fall 2004, we had already covered the pool. I offered to take the loop-lock off the pool. The men said no problem, they would come first thing spring 2005. They returned in June 2005 worked like mules and fixed all pavers that had sunk....

End of season I covered the pool. Early spring of 2006 I take loop-lock off and you guessed it-the Cambridge pavers sank again. Not as much as the first time but again. I call Italia back and in Aug. 2006 Alec (the estimator) takes pictures and sees the uneven pavers. He tells me he will get back to me after he talks with the boss. BUT, it may cost me so much per hour and materials.

I never heard back from Italia...Do you think it has something to do with the fact I said, "I wouldn't pay additional monies for work that wasn't properly done the first time." I have no pool leaks, no defective pool lines, no cars driving over the pavers. So, why are they sinking in areas? Could it be the crush concrete base wasn't prepared properly? To much sand and not a thick enough base?

I paid for a job in good faith and was assured they did quality work. This is how they guarantee there work . It sinks and you pay for it again....
