i'm driving and my droid is low on battery as usual, and needed a new car charger. i see this verizon wireless store, and pull into the parking lot. as im walking in i see something under the verizon logo that says something like italk wireless, premium reseller. i had no idea what that meant, but i assumed they had a car charger.

i go inside and no one is there. every time i go into verizon i have to wait, but this place was empty. so i look around for the car charger and this guy walks out from the back of the store. he helps me find the right charger and i ask him how much it is. he tells me 34.99. I couldn't believe it. I told him I got my last one at the other verizon wireless a couple months ago and it was only like 20 bucks. He said that these ones were better, but i needed one so i thought i'd get it. i asked him what the return policy was so I could go check the other verizon wireless store to make sure i didn't have my prices mixed up. the guy tells me i only have 3 days to return and i'll get taxed a 25% restocking fee. I couldn't believe what i was hearing.

So i'm second guessing this as the guy is ringing me up, and he had to ask me my address and all my information. i asked the guy why it wasn't on my account and he said he had to enter it in manually. i told him i didn't want to give my information, i just wanted to check out. the guy told me i had to give my address because if i wanted a refund, it would only come as a check. i told the guy i was paying with a credit card, but he said i would still get my refund as a check. i was in utter disbelief.

then this guy tells me my total is 40.00! I told the guy that doesn't make sense. how is there $5.00 of taxes. He said that was how it rang up. i didn't want to give the guy a hard time, but i asked him to explain to me again how much the charger was and why the total price was nearly 15% more when tax is about 8%. He tells me there are two taxes. Sales taxes and a green tax of like $2.50 or something. I told the guy to forget it, and just left.

first thing i did when i get home is search italk wireless, and find out im not the only to deal with these scam artists. i feel bad for the cashier, but this is ludicrous. i can't believe verizon lets them put the verizon logo on their stores. no wonder no one else was in the store.

These type of complaints should have been brought up to the Attorney General's Office.

Hey Amir, knock it off

Hey AMIR!!!....If you think these little rebuttals of yours are going to repair the (ahem!) reputation of your little scam shacks, think again.    How could you not notice that the guy said the store was empty when he walked in.....seriously, you insult the intelligence of all that read these reports with your painfully obvious lies.

The Truth

AUTHOR: The Truth - (United States of America)

It always amazes me how people, customer's that is, take advantage of kindness or flexibility to a store's policy.  The store and company freely advertise any and all charges to the customer before their sale is tendered.  I happened to be in the store when this scenario happened and as I would not have expected, but did, the customer did not share the whole story with his audience.  It was clear that this customer was intending on buying the product that he needed with the knowledge that he planned on returning it once his use of the product was done.  Not sure how many stores/company's could survive if every customer bought something from them, used it, then returned it for a full refund would last in this tough economic times.  It was evident that when this customer realized that his refund that was to be shortly after his purchase would encounter some challenge from the store and it was for this reason that he chose not to purchase the product and rather exploit his visit as one of scam for the store/company.

Buyer's beware, individuals like this person defaming this store/company is only because his scam was not going to unfold the way he wanted it to.

Make sure you always get both sides of the story before you make judgement!!!

Actually...

as a premium reseller of Verizon Wireless they have a right to charge what they wish. it would be as if you were a reseller for GM...not all car prices are the same...and i could go buy the same car youi did at a different GM dealer and pay a significantly different price. They are able to retain the Verizon logo because they sell Verizon product. Although i think 34.99 is a little steep for a charger, they have a right to charge their own prices.
