I paid the original fee thinking that I would be able to do the classwork after going on fmla leave. But due to condition and under care to get medication under control I was unable to even start the classes. They wanted another $300 to continue and since I was no longer working I was unable to pay this and due to the job that I left is reason of my condition thag triggered it. Needless to say I sent in a letter and fmla paperwork as told to do to request a waiver. Instead of just a simple no. I got my entire fmla paperwork analyzed by their company and their unbiased opinions whigh were discriminating against my disability. This is an unethical company and would not ever want to be associated with.

Renewal Fee
AUTHOR: iteachTEXAS - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, March 26, 2015
The individual did not complete the instructional coursework within the allotted six month timeline and was required to submit a renewal fee of $300.00 for a three month extension to finish the remaining coursework.
My response to the indiviudal stated they could request a 3 month extension to complete coursework by submitting an Access Renewal Fee. The $300.00 fee can be paid from thier homepage under the Make a Payment link, thus providing directions on how to make the Renewal Fee payment. Requiring a renewal fee, for continued service, is part of our business practice, as there are additional costs associated with a continuation of coursework. As stated in the agreed Letter of Agreement, "The following fees, payable to iteachTEXAS, will be charged if the Candidate is unable to successfully complete the initial Program requirements and wants to continue in the Program: 1) Instructional Coursework Renewal Fee of $300 which allows a 3-month access extension. Candidates must request and be approved by iteachTEXAS.” The requirement for a Renewal Fee is also stated on our public website athttp://iteach.net/states/texas/certification/teacher-certification/teacher-certification-pricing/.
The documentation that was submitted for review to waive the renewal fee stated the beginning and ending dates for incapacity were prior to enrollment into the iteachTEXAS Program. The provided documentation did not state the person was unable to complete online instructional coursework. The indivdual agreed to complete the instructional coursework within the allotted six month timeline, as stated in the Letter of Agreement which was acknowledged by to enrollment, “Successfully complete and fulfill all requirements of the Program’s Instructional Coursework with the completion of the introductory course, EDTC5000, and the six instructional courses, EDTC5100 – EDTC5600, within six months of being accepted into the program”. The requirement to complete instructional coursework within a six month timeline is stated in your Letter of Agreement and on our public facing website at http://iteach.net/states/texas/certification/teacher-certification/teacher-certification-coursework/.
I have called multiple times to try to resolve this matter with the indivudal but calls were not answered and voice messages unreturned. The individual is eligible to seek teacher certification but a renewal fee is required for an extension to complete the remaining coursework.
I am happy to continue to work with the indidivual as the last email did provide alternative options for program continuation.
