My daughter filled out forms online for information and never received answers to her questions.  She was sent an email with a contract attached that stated that she must reply within 5 days to cancel.  She did not realize that she was entering into a contract and it was never made clear.

Their details are very fuzzy and confusing, very similar to one of those scams where you order something and they bury in the fine print that you are agreeing to purchase several more things unless you send a "stop" alert.

They said they had to hire an instructor but the instructor never contacted her so she didn't even know she was enrolled in their school.

A very expensive $375 lesson.  If you decide to seek information, be very careful to check your email every single day, print everythin out and read every single line.   Ideally, copy your attorney on all correspondance with them.

iteachTEXAS Payment Process

AUTHOR: iteachTEXAS - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, March 26, 2013

The candidate applied to the program twice   one application completed was for a candidate still enrolled in college (Contingency Admission @ $100.00) and one application completed was for a candidate who has graduated college ($50.00).  Since the candidate had graduated and only one application is needed, the $100.00 Contingency Admission Fee was refunded and the Contingency Admission application was closed.

2nd amount charged in error

AUTHOR: Anonymous - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, March 26, 2013

So you don't store information?  Then why did you admit to charging our account $100 in error in November and credit it back to our account 3 days later.   I suppose we charged it by mistake?  Ludicrous!

I have filed an appeal to our credit card company and according to their definition of the right to dispute, a merchant misleading is reason to dispute so I expect another credit from them soon.

You can dance around this issue with your policies and procedures but the fact remains that this charge was never made and you have no proof.

iteachTEXAS Payment Process

AUTHOR: iteachTEXAS - ()

POSTED: Monday, March 25, 2013

iteachTEXAS does not retain nor store financial information for candidates.  iteachTEXAS can not charge a credit card without the owners expressed consent.  iteachTEXAS utilizes third parties for financial transactions.

In order to make the Access Fee payment, the candidate must manually input financial information and input initials acknowledging the Letter of Agreement.  The payment of $375.00 can not process without both, financial information and initials, manually inputted.  This is a similar process to checking a box acknowledging the terms and conditions prior to payment - iteachTEXAS ask the candidates to initial for acknowledgement.  Since we do to have candidate's credit cards on file - the Access fee can only be paid by the candidate.

I have provided screen shots to the candidate's mother of our process - a step by step method of manually inputting information.  I did not provide a screen shot with her daughters credit card information or initials, as we do not store or retain financial information.  I have proved proof of payment as a receipt with is also emailed to candidates upon payment.

The $375.00 fee was disputed by the candidate's mother, our merchant processor sided with iteachTEXAS stating the fee can not be charged by iteachTEXAS with the candidate's consent of payment and acknowledgement of the Letter of Agreement.

Prove It

Zach - You can quote policy all you want but the fact remains that you still have never provided proof that this charge was made.  No signature, no initials nothing.

That's all we have asked for is proof that a form was filled out, signed and/or initialed for that charge.  NEVER got it.

Don't try to promote or obscure what the problem is here.  The problem is that you charged our credit card without valid proof of that charge being made.

iteachTEXAS Program Progression

AUTHOR: iteachTEXAS - ()

POSTED: Thursday, March 21, 2013

To progress through the iteachTEXAS program, a candidate must submit an application along with all
admission documentation.  After a review of admission documents, the candidate can elect to acknowledge a Letter of Agreement and submit an Access Fee of $375.00 to be enrolled into the program.  As a candidate progress through the admission and enrollment process, there are checkpoints that must be met and clarification provided throughout the process. The candidate receives correspondence through an intra-program message system that provides direction and support. Candidates receive a Welcome to iteachTEXAS letter that provides step by step instructions for admission, an Initial Message that outlines their areas of acceptance and how to acknowledge the Letter of Agreement and pay their Access Fee, the candidate also receives a Welcome to the Coursework message stating their acceptance and introduction to the instructional coursework.

Our admission process is posted to our website, www.iteachtexas.com, and outlined in our course catalog.  A candidate can not simple fill out forms and be admitted without correspondence to and from the iteachTEXAS program.

To be formally enrolled into iteachTEXAS, the candidate must acknowledge the Letter of Agreement (which is posted to the candidates homepage within the candidate portal, not sent via email) and submit payment information.  Once the Access Fee of $375.00 is paid and verification of acknowledge of the Letter of Agreement, the candidate is enrolled into coursework, provided an instructor, provided a Letter of Acceptance, offered training and test preparation, state testing approval, access to an online video library, and access job postings board/announcements site is posted, etc.

The Letter of Agreement can be acknowledged by either a physical or electronic signature at the time of
payment. There is a five-day grace period, where the candidate is entitled to a full refund of the $375.00 from the time of payment.

In this specific case, there are eight unique correspondences between iteachTEXAS and the candidate, within a five-business day timeline, regarding the iteachTEXAS program.  The correspondence provided direction for the admission process while addressing questions from the candidate.  The candidate voluntary acknowledged her Letter of Agreement and paid her Access Fee.  After the Letter of Agreement and payment was received, the candidate received the following:  Your Letter of Agreement and access fee have been received. Your Letter of Acceptance has been posted on
your instructNET homepage. You have been enrolled in EDTC 5000 Introductory Course.  The candidate read this correspondence three days after it was sent by iteachTEXAS.  Nearly a month after enrollment, the candidate requested to be released from the iteachTEXAS program.  Since the requested was after the five-day grace period, a refund was not granted.

The candidates mother, who has not participated in the iteachTEXAS program, has filed this report.  Over the past three months, through numerous emails and a phone conversion with the mother, I have provided extensive information, addressing the concerns of the mother.
