ITT is a complete ripoff!! They make false promises and you receive no EDUCATION!! Youngstown Ohio

I'm writing to report the ITT Tech. in Youngstown Ohio. Its a complete rip off. I graduated in September of 2005 and still can't find a job. Resume after resume, interview after interview and still nothing. I'm becomming highly frustrated with the whole process.

First of all, we were promised a internship that NEVER happened. Even when I asked around about it they said "Oh, when the time comes". Well 8th quarter came and still no internship. Along with all the B.S. about job placement! BLAH! The Career Services lady (no offense to, she's trying!) has submitted resume after resume for me and I've had interview after interview and once again NOTHING! All of the company's tell me I need some experience and where am I going to get this if they won't hire me in, via INTERNSHIP!! That's not all of it either!

Don't get me wrong, I had a *few* instructors that I did learn from, but on the other hand, we were allowed cheat sheets. And most of the time the Instructors were out of the room when the tests were being taken. I had an Instructor for Rapid Viz that admitted he couldn't draw. Now, what does that say?? How is he able to grade and judge our drawings when he can't even draw himself? I also had a few instances where the Instructor didn't even know the answers to my questions. Talk about FRUSTRATED!!!

One of my MOST MAJOR problems delt with me delivering my child. I was pregnant nine months of my schooling, and when I went to talk to the Assoc. Dean about me delivering my child (which happend in the middle of a quarter)I was told that if had to have a C-Section and couldn't make it to school the standard 2 weeks in a row I would be kicked out. Then she stated "Can't someone drive you here?". Uhm, hello I drove there from East Liverpool. Thats an hour drive both ways. Noone in their right mind would drive me there, sit for 2-3 hours (or less I should say because class usually only lasted an hour at max.) then drive me back home. Needless to say I got lucky (thank god) and had my son on a Saturday and was back to school the next Friday. I also had this problem when I went to inform her that I was on Jury Duty. I got the same reply "If your not here the 2 weeks in a row your out". In which case I got lucky and didn't have to appear. Now what if I had a C-Section or had to appear for Jury Duty?? I guess I would have just beed screwed.

This school was a complete joke. When I started this school I loved it. It was easy, good environment, and good instructors. But quarter by quarter things went downhill as I began to catch on about the lil' things that were going on in the joke hole! People would mosey in late, take their tests, and leave. Now in a Univeristy that would NEVER be tolerated. Anything that you went to the Dean for he wouldn't know what to do about it. Most of the time if you didn't hand an assignment in the instructors would just fill a grade in their grade book so they didn't have to bother trying to get the assignment from you.

I did have a few incidents with a instructor that I did hand in the assignment, but he had lost it. OH H*LL NO! Thats not how you run a Educational Facility!! So my grades suffered because the instructor was careless at his job. HORRIBLE!

Most of the time attending ITT was used as B.S. sessions or used to browse the internet because they gave us nothing to do. I went for CDD and in my mind that would mean learning how to do blueprints, not only on the computer but also on paper!? Well we never once used our $500 Tool kits we had to pay for that was included in our tution. Which reminds me that the books for our schooling were SH*T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were hard to follow, contradicting of themselves, and in my opinion FIRE WOOD! They said if they received enough complants about them the would be changed, well complaints were made and nothing was done. We paid THOUSANDS of dollars for books we HARDLY ever used. I still have books that are still in the orginal wrapper from all 8 quarters. Talk about a WASTE of money.

Not only was this school a WASTE of my MONEY. It was also a waste of my TIME. I went into this school with a basic knowledge of computers and drafting. And I FINISHED this school with a BASIC KNOWLEDGE of computers and drafting. The only difference now is I know the basics of Auto-Cad. Come on now, I could have went to the local Career Center, paid $50 and learned probally more indept of how to's.

I feel I should be more than intitled to my money back. I don't feel I should have to pay for an education that I didn't receive. Now, I wish I would have went to PTI or YSU as originally planned. The only thing the Rep. didn't lie about was going to shcool only 3 days a week. And me thinking 3 days would be easier than driving to Pittsburgh all 5 days I GOT SCREWED!!!

Please Help do something about this. I'm now 30 some thousand dollars in debt and don't have a job to start paying my loan payments that start this month(May).
