Consumers Beware!!!
J and C Auto Sales of Naples, FL knowingly sold me a GMC Jimmy with 3 dry rotted tires. 3 months, almost to the day, after purchasing my vehicle I was almost in a very dangerous accident on the interstate due to a dry rotted tire coming apart and tearing up the back end of the drivers side of the vehicle.
When assisted by the "Road Rangers" after the incident, the "Road Ranger" said he could not believe that a serious accident did not occur due to the condition of the tires that J and C Auto Sales sold me when I purchased the vehicle. We contacted J and C Auto Sales immediately afterwords and asked them to do the right thing by paying for our insurance deductible, towing expense, and rent-a-car costs. They have since refused to even return a call or acknowledge that because of their negligence they put myself, my family, and other drivers on the road in harms way.
If anybody is loking to buy a vehicle in the Naples, FL area, please, for your safety, do not entertain the thought of purchasing anything from this company. It might just save your life!

Oh yeah, I don't think you answered the key question. At what point do you assume responsibility for maintaining the tires on the used vehicle that you purchased? 1 month, 3 months, one year????

" Two seperate insurance vehicle inspectors in the state of FL have suggested that we contact an attorney and file a suit against J and C Auto Sales of Naples, FL"
Now I know you're full of it. The notion that a used car dealer should be responsible for the tires on a vehicle, three months after an "as is" sale is ludicrous. I challenge you to post the docket number here if you ever find a lawyer dumb enough to try and pursue this action (which is very unlikely).
Your assertion that a car dealer should be responsible for tires that failed 3 months after an "as is" sale has absolutely no basis in law. If that were the case, there would be no used car dealers.

Get real

When I got my car, almost 2 years to the day, a bolt broke in the engine and I had to pull it out and send it out to be rebuilt, and when I called the dealer and told them they acted like they didn't even remember me! Not only that, but when I asked them to cover the costs to pull the engine, rebuild it, put it back in, and cover my rental car costs and the increase in gas, they refused and called me a nut, can you beleive it?!
Get real man, this is for real ripoffs. MAYBE if the tires blew up as you were pulling out of the lot that would be one thing, but how does the dealer know (not even counting that they shouldn't care) that you kept them inflated properly, rotated them accordingly, etc. and that they wore out prematurely because you didn't? If you want a tire warranty, go to a tire shop and buy new ones and then buy the road-hazard warranty for each one, usually about $30-40 apiece; I'm betting you won't/can't and then when they fail a year later because you never checked air pressure or rotated them and the tires fail again, you will be in the tire shop screaming.

Not sure who you are but companies like J and C Auto Sales need to be called out for their willingness to sell unsafe vehicles. Two seperate insurance vehicle inspectors in the state of FL have suggested that we contact an attorney and file a suit against J and C Auto Sales of Naples, FL. Both inspectors are willing to testify that the tires that were sold with the vehicle were dangerous and that it was just a matter of time before something like this happened and that we were lucky to have not been hurt. We will be contacting an attorney and also the local news outlets to expose this company.

". 3 months, almost to the day, after purchasing my vehicle I was almost in a very dangerous accident on the interstate due to a dry rotted tire "
At what point do YOU become responsible for maintaining your tires? According to the law in most states, that would be when you drive your used vehicle off the lot.
"They have since refused to even return a call or acknowledge that because of their negligence they put myself, my family,... "
Why should they return your call? Was there some kind of tire warranty on this vehicle you're not telling us about? If not, then it was your negligence in failing to properly maintain your vehicle that endangered your family. Of course, these days, no one is ever responsible for their own actions (or inaction). It's got to be someone else's fault.
