Jackson Hewitt Erik Ricci, Tina Newitt Check never sent, free tax prep next year, taxes wrong. Corp. does nothing. Mentor Ohio
In 2012 Jackson Hewiitt prepared my 2011 taxes. My return check was never sent to me. After many calls to Jackson Hewitt on status I was told to wait. 3rd party company gets me my check 1 month before it's time to do my 2012 taxes. My 2012 taxes were done for free becuase of the issues I had the previous year.
I go to get my 2012 taxes done in the Sears Mentor, OH. Jackson Hewitt. After spending 3 hours with a woman named Barb who seemed completely unsure of what she was doing. Or how to prepare my taxes I was told I had to come back again to see Carrie so it could be double checked. After looking over the previous tax preparers work she found several mistakes she had to correct. While doing my city taxes with the Rita for my was told I would be getting a return of around $70. So last week in the mail I got a letter from the IRS saying my RITA was done incorrectly and I now owe $70 dollars.
So upon the second attempt Jackson Hewitt has again failed to properly do my taxes. There seems to be serious issues with the people hired to take care of this. What is to be done now? I should not be held responsible for paying this fee to the IRS when it should have been not issued to me in the first place.
I called the customer service help line and reported my issues to Chris. Who by the way is in the Philipenes. 1 week later and 2 emails later to which Erik Ricci the Area Manager has not responded I call them again. Chris says there is nothing he can do, and tells me he will tell the local branch to call me again. 5 days later 3rd call into Corp. I speak to Chris's supervisor who is a rude and condesending woman who loves to interupt me. She says, "there is ntohing she can do" and she will tell them to call again.
She also said this branch had attempted to call me the previous day. She said they left a message and they were watiing for me to return thier call. After verifying my phone # 3 times and me checking my phone 3 times. No calls, no missed calls, no messages. So they lied. The local branch falisfied an attempt to fix the situation but did not. I ask her what do I tell the IRS? Her response, "I'm going to have to wait." "There is nothing I can do."
In conculsion Jackson Hewitt will be doing my taxes for free seemingly for the rest of my life because they still can't find someone capable of doing them right. They are rude, incompetant, unresponsive, and untruthful. 3 weeks later no calls, no emails, no answers. I asked for a corp. contact number over this franchise and they would not provide. There is no body to hold these local branches accountable. No body to make sure they are providing proper tax returns. There is nobody to fix thier mistakes. So maybe 3rd tries the charm? Next year they can try to do my taxes right for the 3rd time for free? BS!
