JAM now sells a black box package for $200.00. Best Buy sells the same thing for $18.95. It is simply an indoor antenna they call an over the air receiver.

JAM now is selling used modems. Amazon will sell the same modem (brand new) with a warrenty from the manufacturer for much less. It comes  with a return policy you can trust and they pay the return postage. If you are a hands on person purchase the modem at BEST BUY and take it home with you. 

30% of all the cable boxes that JAM sells have no power supply.  Further the term "field Pulled" is used. The cable company owns these boxes and do not make them available to JAM. These boxes may be stolen.

Jam uses a term "fully tested". On which cable system is this testing taking place without the proper firmware and software ????

Comcast, Charter, Cox, X finity and  Time Warner will not activate a JAM supplied box. Simply call them and ask!!!!

The AARP in their monthly newsletter use the name of JAM ENTERPRISES (dba just about saving money and dba dvr cable boxes) in Colorado as a business that several seniors have complained about receiving non working cable boxes and no refunds when the useless box is returned. They are a fraud at every level. The AARP is sharing this information with the state's AG.

"It is recommended that NO business should be conducted with this company".

when you go to any of the JAM web sites they give their prices for the different boxes. in addition an msrp (manufacturer suggested retail price) price is posted showing JAM sells these boxes at a discount.

there is no such thing as an msrp price. no cable company sells their boxes, they are only rented.

so when a non working box is returned JAM gives the reason for no refund " because the box was sold at a discount" and it is company policy that no refunds are given for a sale made at a discounted price.

in 2011 the fcc passed a rule that a cable company must make available cable cards.

in 2012 it was changed and in 2013 it was changed further and in February 2015 the rule now states a cable card can be made available only if the cable company wishes to do so and they do not want to help any company that gives a bad name to the industry.

JAM has printed written testimonials that all read like an ad (all these letters with no names, addresses or phone numbers is a great way to lie). information from an ex employee state that these letters were all written by jam.

There are over 400 posted complaints (the BBB in denver and 25+ ripoff sites) all stating the same thing. non working box, no refund (when box is returned) no return calls and no return emails. and in over 40 different postings stating non delivery of product after the cable box was paid for. 

go to the following web site "tech terms.com". they have supplied what the term plug and play mean. it is a catchy phrase to describe a cable box that will work as soon as it is connected to a tv.

this can not be done without the proper firmware and software as well as m cards and s cards. and most of all the box must be activated by the cable company.

to find out if a box with the serial number provided by JAM will be serviced on your cable system you must call your cable company. anything else that is told to you by jam is a lie. don"t do business with them until you receive a serial number and it checked out by your cable company.

i contacted tech terms and they informed me jam can not and will not supply a box that is plug and play!

the pictures of the cable boxes on just about saving money and dvr cableboxes that are newer ( or brand new) can only be available from the cable company, unless they are stolen. These boxes are not available from any manufacturer (factory) with cable company firmware or software, which includes m cards. the firmware and software is installed by the cable companies at their testing facilities before the refresh is tested. 

when jam prints that the cable boxes they supply come with factory installed firmware and software or a factory installed m card is a deliberate lie to get your hard earned money. 

JAM will take an order (and your money) for a brand new box and never deliver any product. They will not deliver what they can't get unless the box is stolen and you will be receiving stolen goods.

an invoice from JAM will not list the serial number of the box and a stolen box will not be traced to them.

they have done this many times. if you don't want to get screwed and robbed  get more information by reading the postings on bbb in denver or any one of 25 plus ripoff/scam sites.

I am a tech for the second largest cable company. 

Why a JAM supplied box will not work. the programming and billing codes are loaded into a cable box before the refresh is tested. All this is done prior to suppling a customer with a cable box. The data ID continues to change second to second and without having the propriety software supplied by the cable company (in their cable box)  a JAM supplied box will never populate.

An M card or a Data Stream card does not do this.

some three years ago jam enterprises had a web site finally free tv (this was one of 11 different sites). if you google finally free tv you will find a post made on oct 28 2013 stating " we have never sold a digital converter that works.

CALL YOUR CABLE COMPANY AND ASK THEM IF jam enterprises is an authorized reseller or if they tested their junk boxes. Will they allow these boxes on their system.

the FCC ruling in 2011 was written before the smart tv was available. the ruling in 2013 and the new rule in 2015 states that no cable company must be made to have a box on their system they do not wish to service. there is no ruling or law that will compel them to do so.

if the cable company, for some reason will activate your box for $300.00 after it is sent to their lab for testing at a cost of $250 (testing and round trip shipping), you will be charged a a cable connection fee equal to twice the cost of a box supplied by the cable company. it is their system and they control it. your first month's outlay is $850 with JAM ENTERPRISE ( the cost of the box,the cost of testing and activation)

the plan is to make the cost so high to get a box from ebay, amazon or jam enterprises that you will not considerdoing so. 

i work for a big cable company. there is no FCC ruling in 2013 or 2015 that demands a cable company activate a box they do not want on their system. simply put they own the system and control the system.

get all the m cards you wish you can't get programming unless the box is activated. our cable company will not activate a box from jam enterprises.

It is true the cable company will not charge a service fee to use your own box. They will charge a monthly cable connection fee to use their system. We will not activate a box that we don"t supply.

I read what you posted about the software. I went to just about saving money's web site and yes they make the statement the boxes they sell comes will factory installed software.

No two cable companies use the same software.

the question is where did this software come from? if it is in the cable box it has to be stolen!

when i called my cable company they told me that they would activate my box for $300 and in addition charge a monthly cable connection fee.

before any attempt to activate was made i had to send the box to a testing center at a cost of $150.00 for the testing plus $25.00 shipping to the center and $25.00 back to me. if everything is not perfect the serial number will be recorded as rejected.

i was told they received less than 10 boxes and none of them were accepted. the box must receive a cable signal to allow the user to watch tv programming as well as ON DEMAND and PPV.

a Jam supplied box has never been able the get on demand or ppv and will always be rejected

NOTE: all the big cable companies NOW use this method. the reason:  the decision making process is taken away from the district people. they can no longer make a house call if it is for a product that is not supplied by the cable company with the exception of a product like tivo that has a written agreement with the cable companies.

now you paid JAM $350 for the box and $35 for shipping and handling plus $150 for testing and $50 for to/from  testing center for a total of $585.00.

You have wasted $585.00 for a box that will never be activated.

you must call your cable company to get the truth 

all boxes that are provided by JAM come from one of three seperate places. 

1) canada - is is legal to purchase a box from a cable company. the serial numbers are recorded and will NEVER be activated in the united states. dealing with JAM you may receive one of these 

2) a rental box that was not returned to the cable company. this box is stolen and will NEVER be activated by any cable company. you will be charged with receiving stolen property. . dealing with JAM you may receive one of these 

3) surplus boxes, that are older than 8 years old. the cable companies deactivate these boxes and sell them as "JUNK" at $5.00 or less depending on the quantity purchased. that is why the boxes that JAM sells are dented and scratched with broken or missing windows. the serial numbers are recorded. I was willing to order a dvr from just about saving money when i was directed to a site called stop jam cable box. this site listed the web address for more than 25 different places for complaints against jam enterprises dba just about saving money and several other company names as well . reading further there were 9 different company names used over the years. all companies were a jam enterprise company.

the owner's real name, home office address and phone number was posted on most of these complaint sites.

i was ready to call the toll free number for just about saving money until i was directed to this ripoff site. after reading some of the postings i called my cable company. sure enough who ever posted the information about activation fee and cable connection fee is correct.

the boxes are 15+ years old. the case is dented and scratched and the window that shows the channel is cracked or missing.

when you plug it in a wall outlet you will not get power 60% of the time. see the postings on BBB and 27 ripoff sites

you cannot expect a piece of junk to accept a cable signal (PROVIDING THE CABLE COMPANY WILL ACTIVATE IT)

lets say they will. the activation charge is $300 (one time). the cable outlet fee is $30-$50 ($20 more for a DVR) per month or over $480 per year for the box without the dvr. 

FIRST YEAR COST: $350 for the box from JAM. one time activation fee from the cable company of $300 (if they choose to do so) and $480 in cable connection fees (at $40 per month or $60/month for a dvr)). TOTAL COST for the first year $1,130 or $94.16 per month. if you have a dvr the fee is $1360 or $113.33 per month

two(2) additional years is a total of $960 or $1440 (for dvr) ($40/month for a box or $60 month for a dvr  outlet fee for 24 months). your total monthly cost for the first 36 months is $58.05 or $78.05 per month. $350 + $300 + $1440 for a total of $2,090. a dvr is $2,810. this does not include the cost for any service from the cable company (like HBO etc).

there have been updates in 2012 and 2013 and the latest in Feb 2015 FCC 12-126, the new rule. using your own cable box the cable company will charge up to $30.00 per month (more for a dvr) for a connection or outlet fee to use their cable system (providing they activate the box)

It is legal to own your own box (use it as a door stop) but that does not mean the cable company will activate. There is no law or FCC ruling that compels them to do so.

after reading all the scam reports if you still feel that you wish to deal with jam enterprises dba dvr cable box or just about saving money do the following.

get the make and model and serial number of the box they plan to send to you. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY or credit card numbers UNTIL YOU RECEIVE THE SERIAL NUMBER. call your cable company and ask if this unit will work on their system. find out how much the monthly cable connection fee for this box is (expect to hear $15-$20 per month)

if you like the cable company's answers order a box. pay by credit card so there is recourse through the card company. you will be told some story why they will not accept a credit card (don't do the deal) or it will cost more using a credit card - it is worth it after you find out the box will not work and wish to get a refund.

Call the number for just about saving business and the answering machine "you have reached Digiral Cable today" This is one (1) of eleven (11) companiy names that Jeff Davis uses to cheat someone who paid him. 

Jeff Davis, owner and only employee has NOT updated his web site in over 3 weeks. The sale ended April 2 and the clock indicating how many days have pasted since, is 24 days
