I received an email from this person and followed up as I thought it was a legitimate job offer. This required me to send him my name and address and resume. The amount they were offering for shop ($200) seemed a bit high to me as I am already shopping for companies for a lot less as I stated, but he explained that the job was very detailed and involved computer correspondence with the client for him.

He then contacted me to say they were reviewing my application. I was contacted again and told that I had successfully passed their background test and was accepted for employment.

The email continued to say that the first client was a MoneyGram location, the second a restuarant. At the money gram I would be required to transfer funds to another mystery shopper at a different location( from which the client stated funds had been stolen).

"You would be sent a check which would cover your payment of $300.00 for the duty.As soon as you receive the check, you would then cash at your financial institution, deduct your $200 and use the rest of the money for services."

The email went on to say that if I was ready for this task they would prepare their official check and sent it out to cover the cost of the wire and my "commission"

As soon as I ready about having to cash their check and then withdraw funds to perform their service I realized this as a check scam. I previously " won" money and deposited a check only to discover that it was no good and get charged by my financial institution for cashing it. This is the same sort of deal apparently.

I wanted to report it because it is disguised as a job offer and I lost a lot of time and suffered emotional damage purusing what I thought was a legitimate offer of employment. Also it is so smooth that I wanted to alert people to the fact that it is not and if they accept and take the offer and cash the check they will be left in debt, not earning money.
