I ordered an online book from this company about selling on eBay. There was a "Rock-solid, You Can't Lose, Iron-clad Guarantee." It stated "If at any time you aren't absolutely convinced that you're on to something real. Just sent it back for a 'no questions asked' refund. If you're not delighted I promise an immediate 100% refund.

I got the book, read it, and it was nothing but hype and worthless junk I could have gotten free a dozen different placed. 2 weeks after purchase I requested a refund. I got a response back 2 weeks later, saying I had to print out and snail mail a refund request to get my "immediate refund." I did this and then nothing. No refund, no email, no communication of any kind. I wrote again in early December again asking for my refund. Got nothing, not even the courtesy of a response.

This "company" is run by a scam artist. Don't waste your money. Her product is worthless and her business practices are completely unethical. I wonder how she sleeps at night.

Get Your Money Back!! Time is of the Essence!!

I received my refund today, 01/02/08, directly from Mr. Smith via certified mail. I found a news item in November 07, re: the Smiths, and I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in Fresno, CA. The District Attorney of Kern County, CA has given the Smiths until January 8th to refund all money to folks they scammed. If you have been scammed, please do not waste precious time! Contact the BBB and get on the list of folks entitled to their money back, from Janiece and Monty Smith.

The return address for Monty Smith, as on my envelope, is: 11511 Walderi Street, Bakersfield, CA 93311

I would have contacted some of the other folks if they had left a contact email or ? in their complaints on Rip-Off Report.

Barbara, I can relate, and I can offer you a few words of advice. I too purchased from Janiece Smith. The only difference was the product I ordered from her was her $450.00 home study course!

Janiece Smith's Ebay home study course that I paid for came very late (Her shipping was almost a month late, but when I complained, she claimed that she would refund my shipping fees to compensate for its delay. Never did!) But when the course finally did arrive, it was definately not worth the money, and the stuff she did send me fell utterly short of my expectations. I also emailed her and called her many many times for business advice that she supposedly offered her "home study course students." But, I never got any replies to my questions, nor did she Ever answer her phone. The weeks went by and I continuously called and emailed her with no answers. I therefore began to email her and leave phone messages demanding she honor her "iron-clad, immediate 100% money back guarantee" and refund my money. Still no answer. I contacted paypal and filed a dispute but they said they could not do anything about it because 45 days had passed since the transaction was made. (Coincidence that Janiece Smith took almost 30 days to send the study course to me in the first place?)

$450.00 is Alot of money, especially for someone in my position, and I was not about to give up, no matter what. I sent the home study course back to her residence with delivery confirmation to make sure she recieved it. I also wrote a letter to her asking that she refund my money. I did finally get an email response, saying that once my return was authorized, I could get a refund sometime in that month. 25 days passed, and still no word or refund, but that only made me more determined..

Now, to make a long story short, I did finally get her to give my refund in the end, but it was not easy. Trying to contact someone who is purposely avoiding you can be very frustrating. But I did not give up, and I eventually got my refund. I would say that she benefited much more from giving the 450 dollars back to me than she would have by keeping it, because I would not have let her get away with it without a fight.

My advice to you barbara, is to contact paypal immediately. Even if the time frame has expired since the transaction took place, it is still a good idea to file the complaint. Paypal will re-open old disputes if a company or person recieves enough complaints, and they may re-investigate the case, and get your money refunded to you.

Good Luck!
