I rented for 2 years and was never late on a payment. One month, I received a letter reading that I had to be out in 2 weeks that the owner was returning to take possession of the property. Legally in Oklahoma you have to receive a certified letter and have 30 days to find another place to live. I received neither of these. When I refused to leave in two weeks because I could not get into my new place until 2 weeks into the next month, they tried to charge me for a full months rent. I refused to pay and they filed a claim.

I went to court and settled with a mediator for a lesser amount. I also agreed to pay a pet deposit that I had not paid since I got a pet a short time before I left. I paid this in full and all was paid up in Dec. 03. Next I get a bill for carpet I removed which I told them I would agree to pay. But then they tried to charge me another pet deposit. I paid the carpet bill, but refused to pay another pet deposit. They then tried to claim I owed them 70 dollars for a thermostat that supposedly was damaged. I refused to pay this also and told Mr. Kinder to check the maintenance records from 2 years prior when I reported the faulty thermostat and furnace. The owner even showed up at my house irs, stating he had put the system in himself and was concerned over my safety. Even so he asked me to put off for 6 months the needed repairs. Because I refused to pay these bogus charges, Mr. Kinder falsely filed a report with the Credit Bureau stating I was excessively delinguent on my contract. My credit record is spotless except for this blemish. It is an out and out lie, and I heard from a mediator at the court house that this company was bad about filing false claims against its tenants.
