JB Dollar preys on small businesses that are just starting up!

They came to me in early August offering to run an online 50% advertisement.  I was given a proof and approved it - because it was correct.  And yes, I do have a screen capture of this proof!

A few days later, I saw on their site they changed the ad to look like I am to give away 2 dozen cupcakes for FREE!  Here is how it was posted:  "$15 For 2 Dozen Cupcakes", which means this:

A customer pays JB Dollar $15.
The customer then gets the $30 voucher
They show up at my door with this voucher.
I am to then give them 2 dozen cupcakes.
I don't collect money!

Now how is that good business sense???  I can't give away free cupcakes!  I'm a one person, start up operation.  They changed the ad and refuse to change it back.

I have called and emailed them daily asking for the changes to be made.  They refuse to do so, but yet they have an identical ad posted the CORRECT way for The Treat Shoppe???  How is that fair?

When a customer with the voucher calls to place the order, I first explain the voucher's correct terms!  Most are understanding, but one lady who bought 2 vouchers called wanting 4 dozen FREE cupcakes.  When I explained to her the terms, she demanded a refund from JB Dollar and sent a nasty note about me, thinking I was the on doing a scam-like advertisement or a bait n switch!

Now my husband (who is not even part owner of this company) and I are being harassed by phone and I by email.  Steve McNulty, their "Legal Administrator", is threatening to sue me for $1,400.  For what?  He says because I am refusing to honor the vouchers, when in fact, I never refused anyone.  I just explained the CORRECT terms.  Again, I have called and emailed daily for them to make the corrections, but they refuse.  So now I am sitting here, waiting for court papers to be served to me.

I have a 100% POSITIVE feedback record with EVERY customer that buys from me.  I make awesome cupcakes and now even doing local celebrity wedding cupcakes!  Most of my customers are repeat customers.  Not bad for only being a full time establishment for 2 weeks.   I have been a part timer for almost a year, but my biz has grown so much that I stopped doing my other job!  So I KNOW I am giving a great product and great customer service!  I will NEVER advertise with ANYONE EVER AGAIN!  I have learned my lesson!  Watch out small companies, there are people out there targeting you.  Do NOT USE JB DOLLAR!
