JBC Legal Group, P.C. rip-off! They have dishonest collection practices. Bloomfield New Jersey

My fiancee recieved a letter from these guys claiming to be collecting from Ztel Communications in Texas. When we got the first letter, we actually called Ztel and they had no record of my fiancee ever having had an account with them. Ztel told us to consider them a fraud and not to pay anything, because we owed nothing that they could find.

When we tried to contact JBC, all we got was a crappy answering machine. Sure as heck not leaving a message on that. My father, who is also my lawyer, said it sounded like a fraud to him.

Today, we got another letter from them, saying that we had "obviously chosen to ignore" their attempts to collect. I called up our Attorney General's office and filed a Consumer Fraud complaint. We finally got ahold of someone at JBC and told them to cease and desist. The guy at the AG's office said that the company has to prove there is a debt.

Beyond what I've done, does anyone have suggestions as to anything else? How do I contact the credit bureaus and tell them we think this is a fraud? Is anyone taking these bastards to task?

Three websites, claiming to be lawyers when they're not? (Couldn't find any of them in the bar directories.) Someone's gotta stop these mooches.
