JD BIRYDER - JD ByRider THEY SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO BREAK THE LAW! APPLETON Wisconsin

After months of saying I will not go to JD Byrider, I went there. I walked away a year earlier so I knew what they were about but I needed a car and this was my option. They called me all of the time and a few days before Christmas, after she told me I would only have to put down 500 this time, I said I will make the ridiculous payments and play this game so I can one day be normal again and not have to let ppl take advantage of me anymore.

During our long meeting, Amy informed me that they had a hard time being able to finance me but can with a $3500 tax return down payment, not only that but I also got to make 3 deferred payments which to make a long story short made my down payment $4200 for an 01 Impala with over a hundred thousand miles on it. If I had that to put DOWN on a car, I probably would just go buy one with my 4200. I could not believe it and decided my credit apparently can not get worse so I'll take the car and think. Well after looking up Blue Book prices for this car, I realized this was the most ridiculous thing I ever heard in my life.

I decided I will just drive the car until they take it because again, I could buy one with that.

This is when things went weird. I live in Wisconsin, a recent Self-Help Repossession state where the repo man is allowed to take my car if he sees it sitting out or follows me to the store. I got the notice that they want the car, I told them within the 21 days or whatever that I want them to go to court. After doing this, the repo dude is supposed to back off and JD was supposed to take me to court. Well the repo man didn't back off.

When I did communicate with him, which I think was only once, I told him to go away and tell them AGAIN to take me to court and get off my property.

He didn't even show up at my door until his regular 905 at night.

This man was ridiculous, yelling through my door for an hour and having a temper tantrum. After an hour on this particular day he yelled that "they are on their way". This is when it got really fun. About an hour, the doorbell that we have been hearing turned into a loud bang. It definitely had a police sound. I started to get a little nervous because who wants the police over. My back patio door had a board in it but not long enough so a few seconds after it sunk it that this knock wasn't the repo man anymore, I saw my patio door open.

This cop starts yelling to me to get the board out of the door. I told him he better get the heck off of my patio door. He said he doesn't have to and if the board was not in the door he would have been in my kitchen. He just kept going on and on about how I need to open the door and give them the car back. I asked him if he had a court order, he said that the repo man does. I told him that is impossible because I would have known. He told me apparently I missed something. We went back and fourth for about an hour about how I need to give him the car back and how I won't open the door or give up any car until I see the papers.

Next thing I know the cop said they were going to stay outside of my house until I leave and I will get all of these tickets for obstruction and some other things. I told him I do not have to open my door unless he has a search warrant.

I told him I was going to go into the garage and take the stuff out of my car and think. He was of course still sticking his hands through the space (that he made by opening my door as far as he could) waiting for me. He told me that I have absolutely no choice and I started to think maybe I don't.

I opened up the garage door and the cop told me I did the right thing because they were not leaving.

After opening the garage (against my own will if you ask me), the cop told me he did now have some papers. The papers were not a court order, they were just from stupid JD Byrider ordering the hit to get the car back.

I am not an attorney but this really seems like a breech of peace to me. Just the repo man calling the police and him threatening to put me in jail took away the voluntary in this voluntary surrender doesn't it?

I am afraid to call an attorney because I will get the whole story about how wrong I was for keeping the car in the first place. The bottom line is that I did not break any laws. I defaulted on a contract. That cop and repo man (ordered by good old JD) broke the law!

JD Byrider is a rip off. There is no normal way to be able to keep up with such ridiculous demands. I lost respect for them when they started spitting out such ridiculous words to me! I feel that part of it is perfectly even. Jerks.

I would love to be able to do them the way they do so many. They do the recording thing when you sign the very long and boring contract, they think they are so slick but they should not get away with illegal tactics.
