I totally agree with all who complain about JD Byrider, they can drive a person up a wall with their lies and harrasment.

My husband and I have been dealing with them for over 6 years and we can't get away, they make sure of it by charging steep interest rates if your late.

They have called our home every day Monday through Sunday demanding someone call them back, they state you did not pay your payment when you have a check to prove you did. They offend you by calling you names and causing you to do the unthinkable and yell back. Mr. Malone at CNAC in Cleveland, OH has called my home everyday this past week leaving messages, which he already know's what the arrangements were, he just won't stop, then he proceeds to call family and friends to find us! We are NOT home all day long everyday and he leaves a message for us to call, not one time stating what time he will be leaving for the day so we can call. I called at 8 p.m. last night 11/20/03 and left a message telling him we would be making a payment this weekend and he might as well have told me I was lying right there.

My lawyer states that CNAC can not call and harrass a family like this everyday, and they should not be calling family and friends if a person is only 3 weeks behind. We did opt for the weekly payments and get this we are paying over 200.00 a week for two cars, that is 1,000 a month for two cars for 500.00 for one which these vehicles do not live up to what they make you pay. They hike the prices so high from the standard blue book price it is impossible to catch up! No matter what I do in the future I will NEVER purchase from JD Byrider in Akron ever again and NEVER deal with CNAC ever again. People beware! You do not know what you are getting yourselves into.

#7 Consumer Suggestion

A total ripoff, I can't warn you enough to stay away from JD Byrider.

AUTHOR: Michael - (U.S.A.)

Not only are there interest rates outrageous but their markup on vehicles is over the top. It's places like JD Byrider that keep the poor just that - poor.

Several years ago I had a 93 Ford Tempo in excellent condition and well maintained for sale. The JD Byrider in Cuyahoga Falls made an offer to purchase the vehicle for $2500. This was just under Kelly Blue book at the time so I accepted it. I should mention that I've never purchased a vehicle from JD Byrider so natually I asked questions about how their system works. I was told that this particular franchise was started by a church group to help the underprivileged.

Just a few days later I drove by their lot and seen my former vehicle for sale for a whopping $8,000+ dollars!!! Now add the interest you are paying and you've just doubled it to $16,000 - all for a car that costs them $2500.

This behavior will not be tolerated by any of our employees.

#2 Consumer Comment

J. D. Byrider = Predatory Lender = Bad Choice

AUTHOR: C - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, December 09, 2004

Going to a J.D. Byrider to buy your automobile is like going to a check cashing facility. They prey on those with bad credit of troubling financial situations. Every one of their stores that I drive by has a big sign in front that reads NO CREDIT, NO PROBLEM. That, in and of itself should be a red flag to stear clear of them. I have never stepped foot into a J.D. Byrider nor would I, but I feel confident in saying they are probably the very last place I'd buy anything. As consumers we all too often allow ourselves to fall prey to these kinds of vultures because we are either desperate or unwilling to "do the research" required in making an informed decision. This company is notorious in the Akron area for Greasy salespeople and extremely high interest rates. People consitantly make car payments to them for cars that broke down years ago while their atypical sales reps slap high fives in the back room for meeting or beating the sales goals for the month. A little research would have saved you all of the hassle of dealing with this kind of scum.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Maybe you should have made your payments on time.

AUTHOR: JD - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, November 19, 2004

Customers that make their payments ON TIME, like they agreed in the contract, will get priority over customers like YOU, who always pay late.

You complain about late charges for payments. What happens when you're late on your house payment? You get charged a late fee. What happens when you're late with any payment? You get charged a late fee. Get a grip.
