Wife was tired of her old car and wanted something different, so we spent a Saturday looking at different car lots. Made the mistake of thinking JD Byrider was just another lot (never heard of it or it's horrible reputation) and stopped in. Right off the bat without even looking at any cars, we were ushered into an office and was asked who the car was for, who'd be on the loan, etc., basically going through the application process without even knowing if there was a car there we'd be interested in. Then we were sat in the loan officer's office where he started to sell us the "program". About 2 minutes of this smug clown's down-talking us, as if we were career criminals with no other alternative than to take it up the a*s from him, was enough to realize what the scam was. As we left, I suggested to my wife that we should probably get the paperwork with our info back from them but she just wanted to get out of there. Turns out I was right- the scumbags did a hard pull on our credit anyway, even though we never even looked at a vehicle let alone thought about purchasing one from them.

Thankfully, we weren't in a dire situation and so were able to see the scam easily through rational eyes. Unfortunately, after reading through these reports, we are among the few. My only reason for bothering to write this is for that person who is smart enough to do a google search before walking through those doors- DON'T DO IT. It's most definitely a scam. There are a lot of legitimate ways to raise your credit score without having to resort to being bent over by JD Byrider. And if you look at the terms of their "program", you'll see that buying from them will more than likely cripple your credit further as they saddle you with an enormous bi-monthly payment for a piece of crap that you'll be spending all available cash on to keep running. Miss 1 payment by 1 day and you'll have a repossession on your credit history as well.

Robert, Coast, Ken, etc...all you clowns who religiously defend JD Byrider in every report posted while claiming you aren't affiliated- don't bother. The affiliation is quite apparent by the fact that you have to respond to every report telling the victim they got what they deserved for having bad credit.

You sure seem to take this personal, Jim, almost as if you're disappointed that I wasn't ripped off. You should try another hobby and leave trolling this site to the more capable, like Ken, at least they can troll without sounding like a complete buffoon.

My credit is fine, walking in to Byrider was an honest mistake, I thought it was a real dealership. For those of you who vehemently defend this company while proudly proclaiming that you are not affiliated, should take a step back and look at how ridiculous you appear. JD Byrider has 360 complaints on this site alone...and you try in vain to defend it- LOL. You understand this site is called "ripoff"report, don't you? It's not called "illegalpractices"report. 360 individuals have felt ripped off by this particular company and chose this site to report it. But you are still naive enough to think it's the consumer who may be wrong? You regulars who troll this site are a bunch of ridiculous clowns.

Yes...You Are Way Too Smart!

Interesting. Notice the timing here. Mr. Mensa goes into JDB to look at cars and comes out bitching and moaning AFTER he submits the application. Probably Einstein was turned down! Oh but he's too smart! With all his superior IQ, why did he need to go to a subprime dealership? Intelligent people know the repercussions of not paying their bills on time and developing a documented reputation of such just like Einstein here has done to himself! Not only that, I guess the day he was there he was a little "off". He was ushered in, then he was sit down. I guess he can't do much without being led around by another! So mr. Mensa, if you had no intention of buying from them, why did you even go in? Why did you even listen to their pitch? Why did you file an application? You are just so, so smart, right? Those who complain about subprime dealerships all do it from the SAME perspective...they are behind on their payments (thus living up to their reputation) and they are crying and whining about collection calls. Then when those of us respond pointing out their need to pay their bills on time, their response is to look incredibly foolish by claiming we work for "them". Its a great opportunity to see how those with not only subprime credit but subprime mentality "think". Talk about sorry people. Well Mr. Mensa, have fun in a junk car! You are way too smart to pay your bills on time.

only a discrepancy to the dense

I got an email about the hard credit pull, went online and saw it was from CNAC. I thought it was awfully freaking shady to do a credit pull AFTER we left with no intentions of buying from them, so I googled JD Byrider- voila- all the bad reviews you could ever want...with those of you mentioned doing all the apologizing for them.

Defend them all you want, it makes you look like a d****e. Even though I personally wasn't taken to the cleaners by these scumbags, I feel I should warn others that might be going into this blind and making their bad situation worse.

Now you were talking about legal...was it legal for them to do a credit pull without a deal in the works? What was the point of it? To screw us for walking out?

I would agree, J.D. Byrider is not a place where I would do business...ever.

When shopping for a car, it's on the buyer to verify the condition of the vehicle, the warranty, if any, and all terms ofl the financing.

I don't believe they do anything illegal, but yes, the do charge a premium because the usually deal with sub prime customers.

I stopped counting, at 30, the number of companies I've been accused of working/shilling for.

I am speaking for myself, but Robert, Coast, etc. don't work for them either.

IF your credit is good, you would, indeed have been foolish to buy from JD Byrider or any other dead beat car lot.

Oh-oh, I bothered to respond, even with specific instructions NOT to...O-o-o-p-s.

"Made the mistake of thinking JD Byrider was just another lot (never heard of it or it's horrible reputation) and stopped in."

One final thing, if you had never heard of JD Byrider or its horrible reputation, How were you aware of "all" the posts, Robert, Coast, myself, etc. have made concerning them...it's a bit of a discrepancy to say the least.
