I have read on here about others who have had bad experiences with JD Byrider.  I realize that I signed a contract with a company to buy a car.  I had bad credit so I felt I had no other choices.  Had I not have panicked when my other car quit, I could have found some cheap car that would be paid for now and not stressed out about the car I purchased from JD Byrider.

Bottom line, the company preys on people who have bad credit and are desperate to get a car. The cars are not in great shape and they are way over priced.  It is a upside down loan from the beginning.  When I got my car I was going down the road with air conditioner running and the car just died... I had to re crank the car.  Now I have had problems every since and the transmission is going out.  I have a 2006 car with over 100,000 miles and over $9000 left to pay.   Upside down car loan.

The company is making money on interest rates and charging people with low incomes and bad credit.  Sure I signed a contract but just like a payday loan shark or any other company that does business this way, it should be against the law.  There should be better regulations in place.  The only way to get out of this is paying it off quick before car breaks down completely and then selling it.

Pay down car enough to refinance loan for a better car at a regular dealership.... or filing chapter 13.   If you return car then they threaten to sue you for 25% of your pay each payday.  If you try to make payment arrangements, they harass you.  There is no way out.  Maybe totaling the car?  Still you would be stuck with the balance owed.  Best to just file chapter 13 if possible and start over.  Hopefully the economy will pick up enough now where jobs can be more secure and you can have a fresh start.

Thanks for the Advice Jim from Florida

AUTHOR: - (USA)

After looking at past reports filed about JD Byrider I notice you always file a rebuttal..Jim from Florida.

Interesting...

Well appreciate your advice but my personal finances was not the point of the ripoff report.  Lots of other ripoff reports contained questions about what do I do to get out of this car.... from JD Byrider. I was offering all options on how to get out of this problem.  Most people are working two or three jobs if they can find them... Not sure Jim, but for you the economy must be great!

Here is the point in a nutshell.

Unless you own your own JD Byrider dealership Jim, I recommend you do not purchase or allow your family and friends to purchase a car from that company.

For those people considering purchasing a car from that company, I am just saying don't do it.  There are other answers out there to get a ride.  Maybe you will have to get a cheap clunker for awhile till things get better but that would be a better choice than to strap on a huge car payment for a car not worth it and getting yourself more behind.

The cars are overpriced and have maintenance problems from the get go.  The cars are a upside car loan from the beginning.  That means the cars will depreciate in value very fast as you drive them and the cars are already way over priced so you can't trade it in or sell it because it is way over priced.  The interest rates are high and the car payment is high.   If you pay the car off by the time you get it paid off, you will need another car if the car makes it that long.  Most people get into these cars and find themselves stranded with broke down car and still owe a huge payment left to pay on the loan.

You can get a cheap car for $200 or less car payment a month if you look hard enough.

If you want to continue to support this company, then go for it.  I was just warning people about the dealership.

They harrass you if you want to make payment arrangements???  So then, why are you making late payments?  There's no way out?  Yes there is...you do what a mature person does...you SOLVE the problem!

The ONLY reason you have to use them is because you destroyed your credit prior to this car.  You did that by not paying your bills on time.  Here we are today.  You want them to do a repo, you want to make payment arrangements, and again you are making late payments.  Do you think the time has finally come for you to "grab the bull by the horns" and solve your "problem" once and for all?

If you don't have enough money coming in then the easy to see solution is to INCREASE the amount coming in.  How do you do that?  You get a part time job working weekends or nights during the week if they are free.  Fun?  No.  But that's what an adult does...they look for ways to SOLVE THE PROBLEM rather than run by declaring bankruptcy or coming here to wail, wail, wail about how terrible the lender is because they want their money.

You didn't choose to be financed by them.  You didn't choose to buy a tired, worn out, high mileage car.  You HAD to do business with them because you and only you destroyed your credit.  You don't need to live that way!  You can turn that situation around TODAY.  You can make more than enough money working on weekends to pay these payments.

So then...what will it be...the choice is yours.
