J.D. BYRYDER ripoff SANDUSKY Ohio

My car was under warranty when it started a transmission problem. I took the car to their service area in Ontario, OH and they looked at the car and determined it needed a transmission. I picked the car up a week later and drove it less than 2 miles and still had the original problem. I took the car right back to them. they kept the car for another week and then called me to say it was done. I picked up the car and they said that it wasnt actually the transmission, but just a speed sensor. The transmission that they put in was supposed to be a re-built one. This was in May of 2004. In November 2004, with less than 7000 miles on the tranny, it went bad and I contacted J.D. Byryder. They informed me that the tranny only had a 90 day warranty. I investigated and found out that the tranny that they put in my car (that did not need to even be replaced) came from a junkyard and was NOT rebuilt ( I contacted the junkyard). The junkyard also informed me that a lifetime warranty was offered on the tranny, but J.D. Byryder did not opt for the warranty. Now, I am faced with a 2000.00 dollar repair bill for a transmission that I did not need. They refuse to do anything about it and I have contacted the State Attorney General office in Ohio and several investigative newsteams. I am interested in hearing from others with a similar, viable complaint about this company to file a class action lawsuit against them. The Representative for the State Attorney General says that my complaint is worthy of investigation and that they have several other complaints along the same line. Also, contact the BBB in the Ohio area and they will give you a detailed listing of complaints against J.D. Byryder.
