I flew to Florida from Colorado to pick up the car I purchased from Choice Auto Brokers. After the lying, thieving, b*****d Keith Melanson (salesman) and the owner Jean Luc Ferrigno swore up and down it was a "great car", "runs perfect", blah, blah, blah, I paid them and left. I was down the road about 30-40 minutes and realized it was out of gas, did I mention they were cheap too? Thank goodness I was going to my cousins house for a few days before driving back because that's when we found out that I couldn't open the gas door. After several tense phone calls he told me to take it to the Mercedes dealer in Palm Beach because I didn't have enough gas, and no way to put any in, to get back to Fort Lauderdale.

After arriving at the Mercedes dealership where several mechanics tried to open the door, it was determined that the only way to do so was to order a master key. Apparently the one I received was a valet key with limited use. This is what I consider critical information to leave out when selling a car. It took 3 days for the master key to arrive. When it did, they were finally able to determine that there was a problem with the system that controls all the locking mechanisms. The cost was could be up to $1300.00 in addition to the cost of the key.

I decided since the car was there at the shop anyway, I should get it checked out. Now I have an estimate for repairs in excess of $5,000.00. This inspection cost $477. and they were to change the oil and fluids and add any if needed. Oh it gets better.

So I picked up the car and drove it back to my cousins about 10 minutes away where it was parked for the rest of the night. The next morning I headed for the beach, but before I got there the car overheated because the radiator hose broke off. After waiting for about an hour in the heat, my car and I were towed back to the Mercedes dealership. The service manager acted all concerned but I soon found out he was no better than the b*****d that sold me the car.

The new radiator was an additional $1300.00, not included in the estimate for $5000. By now I know I have a lemon and I seem to be the only one concerned about it. Not the police when I called them. Not the dealership who sold it, and now obviously not the Mercedes pit that had no problem screwing me over too.

It was another 3 days before they finished installing the radiator. Now I have been in Florida almost 2 weeks. I had planned for two days. At this point my husband, who is still in Colorado with our son, isn't comfortable with me driving the piece of crap across the country alone. So the only alternative is to have it shipped to Colorado at the additional expense of almost $700.00 in addition to my plane ticket which was almost $200.00

This entire experience has left me extremely disillusioned in the human race. I arrived home exhausted emotionally and mentally. I sick to my stomach all the time thinking about it and feeling extremely angry for what they might get away with.

So please, take this very seriously, don't ever, ever, ever trust a person in the car sales industry. I honestly believe you have to be an amoral person to be able to do what they do and have no regrets or remorse for the pain they cause.

TYPICAL, JUST LIKE ALL THE REST, BLAME THE PERSON WHO GOT SCREWED SO YOU DON'T LOOK SO BAD.

It amazes me that you have taken this very defensive high and mighty attitude, could it be that you are really just like them and it sounds like your trying to convince yourself otherwise. The fact that you are trying to justify what they did is disgusting. Let's see, how would you deal with someone who screwed you over? Yeah, I know you would accept all the responsibility right? NOT LIKELY!!!! You're an a*s for even suggesting that we somehow deserved what happened. You have no idea what I did or did not do so just keep your self serving comments to yourself. And as for you having a "good" reputation, that is subjective and probably not accurate based on how skewed your perception of thing is.

I have friends in Phoenix and I be letting them know about "Paul" because obviously you're okay screwing people if they didn't do what you think they should have to protect theselves from the liars, cheaters and theives.

YOU NEED TO GET OVER YOURSELF

My righteous crap give me a break. I am telling you the truth you got screwed!Deal with it but do not categorize me with the other pieces of crap out there. God forbid you need a Lawyer because they sure would have a field day with you. The Mercedes dealership didnt sell you the car they were only trying to fix the piece of crap YOU BOUGHT and why because YOU DID NOT DO YOUR RESEARCH OR TAKE IT TO A MECHANIC BEFORE YOU PURCHASED IT. ALL OF THIS COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF YOU WOULD HAVE JUST HAD IT LOOKED AT BEFORE YOU PAID FOR IT. I would have spent $500 to have the Mercedes store inspect a used Mercedes before I paid good money for it. Next time do a little research and have a professional inspect the vehicle before you buy it and you would have known to walk away from it. Did you even ask if you could have an indepedent party inspect the vehicle? I would bet my house you didn't, and if you did and they said NO than you would have known something was fishy. Maybe if you would have done this you wouldn't be bitching about how you got taken. These are some easy steps to protect you from buying a LEMON cause God knows there are some out there. You have to take some accountability for what you didn't do to and maybe you learned a lesson.

Don't believe you, just like all the rest

While i appreciate your feedback, this is just the tip of the ice burg i ran into. After dealing with the unscrupulous person at CHOICE AUTO BROKERS, the rest of the nightmare WAS with the Mercedes dealership in Palm Beach. They also did a fine job of screwing us over. The incompetence of that dealership will also be acknowledged in "Rip Off Report". They were the ones who didn't even fill the wiper fluid dispenser after I had paid almost $500.00 for an inspection and maintenance and repeatedly told them that the container had not been filled. They didn't return my husband's phone calls and they couldn't even be bothered to rinse the car off where the radiator blew fluid all over my car.

So please, don't even try to turn this back on me that if I would have dealt with a certain type of car dealership they would be more reputable than the other. You all give great lip service but when it comes time to do the right thing, you just see dollar signs. I will never again believe what a car salesman tells me and God help the next one I come across because he is going to be doing a lot of writing. EVERYTHING will be in writing, none of this good faith s**t that your type know nothing about but pedal very well.

If you really are so concerned about how your "profession" is perceived , maybe you should start looking at your business affiliates and give them the righteous speech because I am no longer interested in listening to the crap that is coming from your mouths.

VERY SERIOUSLY,
LEASA

1 bad apple doesn't destry the tree

I have been in the Auto industry for almost 17 years and have been very succesfull by treating people as I wish to be treated. It is ashamed that 10% of my field that are the con artists, thieves liars etc effect the 90% that are great and take pride in what they do. I have customers that have purchased all of thier vehicles from me and who have been kind enough to refer thier friends and co workers to me for years. Its like a teacher who abuses a child; are all teachers bad No just the piece of crap that did that to a child. All of us in the auto industry are not bad people so please do not judge us by the actions of others.

I am sorry that you were taken but you bought from what I call a pot lot. They do not have to warranty cars and they do give a lot of lip service. Next time try buying a Mercedes from a Mercedes Dealership not some con artist a thousand miles away from where you live. I hope it works out for you I honestly do.
