I PERSONALLY HAVE DEALT WITH JUAN RUDEK, RUDEK CONSTRUCTION, AND AS FIRST HAND BEEN RIPPED OFF BY HIM, I MUST AGREE COMPLETELY WITH THE ARTICLE WRITTEN HERE.

JUAN RUDEK IS A COMPLETE NUT JOB, HE STALKS PEOPLE, AND RIPS THEM OFF FOR A LIVING.

THE FUNNY PART IS, HE IS AFRAID OF HIS WIFE, MAYBE SOMEONE SHOULD TELL HER WHAT HE IS UP TO THEN MAYBE HE WILL STOP.

LAST I HEARD, HE WAS GOING TO FILE A BANKRUPTCY IN ORDER TO AVOID ALL OF THE DEBT HE IS IN.  HE IS GOING TO FILE IT SO THAT HE DOESNT HAVE TO PAY ANYONE BACK THE LARGE AMOUNTS OF CASH HE HAS STOLEN FROM THEM.

HE IS A THIEF, LIAR, CHEAT, AND MOST OF ALL SCUM OF THE EARTH.  HE HAS NO HEART.

WE HAD A BUSINESS TOGETHER, THAT HE STOLE ALOT OF MONEY FROM, AND I SEE FROM LOOKING ON HERE, THAT IS ALL HE IS GOOD AT..  STAY AWAY FROM THIS MAN.. HE IS GARBAGE.

My name is Jeff Gopon and I am mentioned in this bogus report and would like to respond to the misleading statements mentioned in said report. I stumbled across this site while on a google search and had no idea it existed. Since the report claims that I fired the person who posted the report, I can only assume it was written by the incompetent general contractor who I hired to remodel my home in the summer of 2007. It appears that he doesn't even have the intestinal fortitude to even list his name on his posting. The time frame for the job was agreed to be 6 months.

In early 2008, it became painfully obvious that the general contractor was in way over his head and had absolutely NO IDEA how to complete the job. I then had multiple discussions with the subcontractors, suppliers and other employees of the general. Through these conversations it then became obvious that the general was cashing the checks I had written to him and not paying any of his obligations to those he had hired. At that time, I had paid roughly 80% of the contract for about 50% of the job completed which was a huge mistake on my part. I had fallen for the general contractors repeated plea's where he begged for money to make his payroll every week.

However, the completed work was completely shoddy and I have since had to spend tens of thousands of dollars just to repair the subpar work. When I confronted the general about his extravagant spending, including a large wedding reception and vacations, he denied everything and claimed he had paid his bills. Well, as a matter of public record I can show that he is not telling the truth. First, he is in the middle of bankruptcy proceedings in order to avoid paying his debt. Secondly, I have been involved in fighting liens on my home placed by subcontractors and suppliers who were not paid by the general. These liens are also a matter of public record.

The reason that the general contractor mentions multiple parties in his posting is that he started multiple jobs at one time so that he could ask for large down payments to keep his personal spending spree going in what became basically a ponzi sceme. I did not fall for the large down payment scam but the progress payments he begged for added up very quickly. The only accurate statement in his posting is that I have finished the work on my own by hiring subs and slowly fixing the multitude of mistakes and shoddy work left by the general contractor. My final costs are far and away over what my initial contract outlined. This fact further documents the incompetence of the general contractor.

I could go on for many pages documenting examples of non-square walls, problems with city of chicago inspectors not happy with his work, buried and clogged waste pipes, non-flashed roofing corners, drivet installed in lieu of contracted stucco,,, and on,,,, and on,,,, and on,,, I'm sure my side of the story is very clear at this point. I can only say that the fact that I agreed to a contract with this con artist was a HUGE mistake.
