Around 2005 I contacted the Law Office of Jeffrey Fouts from online.  It indicated he was helpful with the IRS.  My initial call I spoke with a very friendly gentleman who was super helpful and I told him I felt good about this firm helping and representing me.  Next day I got a call from one of his female staff memebrs, they told me to overnight $750 immediately before they would take another call or even look at my file.  I did as directed. 

Again, a female staff member (maybe a paralegal) contacted me to get all my tax returns and asked me about my case.  Once she received my tax filings and corporation information, she called with a huge attitude.  She said "you make all this income and you want to negotiate your back taxes?' and "with this amount of income how do you not pay"? I was livid.  As a business owner I file a 1099.  What the income made vs what I actually take home is a HUGE difference.  This idiot was apparently impressed with the net of my company. 

She went on to say there's no reason for the IRS to settle with me etc etc.  We got argumentmentive.  I asked to speak to the attorney directly and she refused and I also let he know I didnt appreciate her comments or attitude. Apparently she doesnt unerstand what she is doing. She called me a few days later letting me know they had already spent hours on my file and they needed another $1500 over nighted.  Hours? I spoke with her twice, each time for under 10 minutes. I was ticked.  I never contacted them again.  I never once talked to a attorney or the attorney on the website.

I called the IRS directly, filled out some paper work and negotiated a payment plan myself. Please don't get suckered into this scam!  This was several years ago and I'm still angry over it.  What a joke.  I wonder how they still operate??  Must have several complaints.
