I was security for a retirement center (housing) Over the Rainbow Corporation in Freeport, IL.  I was actually hired by JEM Detective Services which had placed an ad on Craigslist.com.  That should have been my first clue.  After having worked there for a while, it came to my attention that the other officer had just quit coming to work.  I called Dave up and let him know.  A day or two later Dave called me and told me they were going to be looking for another person.

I am going to the local college there in town and I told 2 or 3 people about the opening.  They ended up hiring a girl I referred.  After she was hired they let me go.  When the other person had been missing, before they hired someone else, I had been covering shifts that they knew did not match my schedule.  One night instead of driving an hour home sleeping a few hours and driving an hour back - I slept at work / over night;  Granted I knew I wasn't supposed to, but I figured they'd understand because they knew I was covering hours I couldn't typically work. 

My wrong!  They fired me and when they called me into work to do the paperwork - they conveniently forgot to give me my last check.  I asked him if he would mail it - he said, "Yeah - ok".  It is now 3 months later and I still haven't received it even after countless texts and phone calls!
