Bought 2 horses off Jenny "Lee"/"Hunter". First one 11 year old mare that was supposedly a kid broke horse that did everything from cutting/reining/shows/trails etc .Jenny said she had owned the horse for about a year, and needed to sell some horses due to her divorce. This horse was to be bred to her stallion for a 2016 foal before buying. We were very excited as the horse seemed good from video's (big mistake not seeing horse in person before buying!), and also this would be our first foal. Noticed on later video that horse was looking much thinnner than photos. We asked about this, we were told it was her "teeth". So they were floated and she should start putting on weight.

Jenny confirmed mare was pregnant from her vet. Jenny also mentioned she had another very cute and well bred filly she needed to sell immediately due to her having no money, from her barn burning down. She said she had others who were wanting the filly, so we felt we needed to make a quick decision. We agreed to buy filly too, and were told there was nothing wrong with her. Filly was supposed to have her brand on her , but didn't. Her papers stated that she was branded. Jenny told us that she was going to be branded but her brand iron burnt in the fire, and was not sure she was going to have the new one there in time to brand her before we picked her up. We told her this needed to be handled before we picked up. I contacted AQHA and was told there would be certain steps to correct this, and told Jenny it needed to be handled. She miracuously got branded a couple days before pickup..

Picked up both horses, and they looked like rescues!! Thin, ribby, sketchy, skin problems. Ridicoulous! We should of stopped there, but she had aldready cashed our checks we had sent beforehand. Loaded both horses and drove off. Got to our destination, and soon realized that our "Kid broke" Mare had spooky issues amoungst other things. Filly acted like she had never been touched before. Both horses had worms, were way too thin, feet overdone, had skin fungus, and ear plauqs. It was discovered that the filly had a slanted vagina "pneumovagina" which could pose breeding issues if bred in the future. Jenny claimed she knew nothing about that, which i find hard to believe since she is a horse breeder and "knows" about reproductive health. This also probably explains why she dumped her off quickly and did not want to have her "brand" on her. The older pregnant mare was a bit looky/spooky for what i would consider a beginner/kids horse. This horse looks at everything, even in her own pasture. None the less we fed and cared both horses back to health for months. They looked much better, fat, happy, and healthy.

Kids and I rode the older mare, and she seemed ok under saddle (while pregnant), although still very looky, and threw in a couple "crow hops" from time to time during a lope! (kids horse????) We ended up putting lots of groundwork into the sensitive filly and decided to sell her to a person was wanting a project for cutting work. Time came for older mare to have foal and she leaked milk for days prior to foaling. Foal was born late at night and we noticed the next morning that he seemed "off". His tongue was hanging out, and we had no idea what had happened. Despite care we ended up losing him 9 days later. Dummy foal/infection? Not sure, but something was amiss. This was heartbreaking for our family.

2 months pass and we decide to start ridding mare again. We do roundpen work, ground work etc to get her back on track before we get on. This time she is a different horse. Goes into a full on buck when asked to lope. We figure might be a "fluke" due to not being ridden, but soon discover this is not the case. Upon multiple times of being ridden there were mulitiple times of "bucking" while being asked to lope. Checked saddle/feet/legs/pad etc, did not matter. This was not the same horse while pregnant. She would have good days where she was really good no bucking at all, and then "unpredictable" days. I figured out why she had mutiple owners on papers, and i also figured out why she was "culled" from Jenny's breeding/ridding program.

I contacted Jenny to see if she would like to buy her "kid broke" horse back, and no reply. This woman is a scam artist and is selling junk horses with "issues" to an unsuspecting public. Would not surprise me if most came from auctions. Shame on us for not doing things properly in the beginning and actually seeing the horse etc first, but i definitely feel ripped off, and buying/owning these horses has been a miserable experience for us. Realize also that we are not the only ones who have been ripped by her and affiliates, check into other cases on here from "Jenny Hunter". Honesty is not a priority for Jenny, but i think money is! Oh and she still has plenty of horses and continues to buy more for her breeding program, so i dont think "divorce" was the issue. Buyer beware.

2HOT performance horses/Jenny Lee

AUTHOR: ML15 - (United States)

POSTED: Thursday, December 28, 2017

Very interesting you say that! I’ve done business and bought many young and broke horses from 2HOT Performance horses /Jenny Lee. I’ve gotten colts from her for my training programs and never had an issue. And have got a few kid horses for clients. Everytime they are exactly what she said they were. And I strongly disagree with what you say. She’s always been truthful and upfront with people and I included. I’ve never seen any horses that came from her, skinny or neglected as you say. I believe she’s a very reputable breeder. She has excellent horses. Everyone knows yearlings go through a fuggly stage, and for the "slanted vagina”, I don’t see how she would have known considering that it was on a yearling that obviously wasn’t going to be bred any time soon. Not everyone goes around looking at horses vaginas, breeder or not. As for the mare, leaking milk is completely normal for a heavily in foal mare to do. It sounds like the foal was oxygen deprivated and can happen when mares in labor are not watched. "Foaling Mares 101” if you care to look up. It sounds like it could have been your choice to have said you didn’t want them in the first place, before agreeing to leave with them. Instead of complaining almost a year later. I’d recommend her to anyone looking for a good horse!
