I found a 2004 Chevy SilveradoTruck on Auto trader For Sale. I emailed her and let her know I was interested. She immediately removed the listing. I asked why she was selling it so cheap and she said, she won it in a divorce and didn't have a license. She insisted we use e-bay for payment and shipping of the vehicle. That sounded strange but we agreed.
A few days later I was sent a fake invoice from ebay. This invoice instructed us to do a wire tranfer to:
* Transaction Manager: | JACK LOUNDIN (use this as beneficiary) |
* Bank Name: | BANK OF AMERICA |
* Bank Address: | 2105 W BRANDON BLVD, BRANDON, FL 33511 |
* Account Number: | 2290 3138 8954 |
* Routing Number: | 026 009 593 |
I contacted E-bay spok Dept. and they said this was not legitimate. They do not accept payment for autos not sold on there site.
I'm glad we figured them out before we lost $15800.00
