JewelMint.com, BeachMint Repeated non-refundable charge Santa Monica California

I ordered a piece of jewelry from JewelMint.com.  When I received it, the jewelry was nice looking, but I felt that it was of poor quality.  Thereafter, JewelMint.com (a division of BeachMint) continued to place a $29.99 charge each month on my credit card.  We were away from home, caring for an ill relative, for several months, and I did not catch this repeated charge on my credit card statement (my error).  When I did call about it, JewelMint.com's representative could only refund the last month's payment. It took some effort to convince his Supervisor to refund the fee for another month or two.  JewelMint.com requires you to go into their website between the 1st and the 5th of each and every month to negate this charge.  When you fail to do so, the charge is applied. In case you choose to order another piece of jewelry from them, the $29.99 fee may be applied toward the purchase price of that item.  The fee becomes invalid, and can no longer be used, in just a few months time.  In other words, if you do not purchase anything, JewelMint.com (BeachMint) continues to charge you $29.99 per month (or $359.88 per year) just to allow you the dubious privilege of receiving their emails, whether or not you access their site.  I consider this a true ripoff.
