Jim Farr Handy Man, JC Total Maintenance, Total Maintenance Between materials and labor charged approx. $20K. His work will not pass code/inspection. Drywall, furnace and electric not able to pass code and has to be redone. Never came back & finished. I'm 68 years old and now live with my daughter. Limestone New York

I hired this man in July 2014 and to date the furnace and electrical will not pass code/inspection.  The furnace is installed incorrectly and he didn't put in the right ducting.  The drywall doesn't reach to the top of the ceiling - 1-2" gaps because he was too lazy to put it to the top of the ceiling.  Electric wouldn't pass inspection.  The inspecter was heard from the basement saying, "oh, hell no!"  Therefore, drywall had to be taken down and once seeing that the inspector said the drywall had to come down from about three feet from the floor.  He never finished insulating the attic.  

He kept promising that he'd come back and seemed like such a nice guy UNTIL the money ran out.  Then he avoided and made excuses for months.  He is being investigated for disability fraud and the investigator came to see me.  During the time that he said he was injured he built a new kitchen in his own home - guess I paid him well.  Basically everything that this man did to my house has to be redone.  I paid him over $20K including labor & materials.  Do NOT get scammed by this guy..no matter how nice he seems.  Learn from my mistake.  I own a home I cannot live in and now live with my daughter - I'm 68 years old and alone.
