I just read about this today. I read about what Jim Lisi did to his clients, specially the " intimidated me with thug like tactics."  That is him alright. I worked for him once as freelancer/employe. The website sounded good, and he offered flexible work (WORK FROM HOME). Which i will tell you people. Every single person that works for this "fake company." do not work from a real office. Jim Lisi works from his home bedroom (im not kidding), and he has structured his virtual network of thugs very well. He has the following:

1. One lawyer

2. about 4 sales guys who he pays purely under commission 35%

3. SEOS from India (bad ones) who he pays nothing

4. one SEO from USA, which he constantly has new ones--most of the SEO freelancers from USA dump him in less than a month or two.

5. An online phone system that allows him to create extensions to freelancers, giving the apparency that he is a well-established business.

6. He has a well-designed website with mentions and logos that dont link to nothing, but gives the impression that he is well-connected.

At first i though he was very pro-active in using remote people to do the job, but little i know that he will asked me to cheat.

While i worked for him, i learned about some of his trick. For starters, he has set up a contract that is designed to trap customers into staying with him for a least a year, not matter what happens. If the client breaches the contract--say they are piss they are getting nothing but only been rip off--clients can't get out. He asks for credit card, so he takes money from their credit cards the moment he senses the client threatens to cancel the service. I'm not kidding you, I sow him literately doing this to couple of clients--taking $2000, $3000 out of their credit cards on one day-- the very moment he start having problems with them.

He does threatens people, and also threatens people who works for him. He is a real nasty dirty person. When I used to talk to him over the phone, he only talks with bad words and nasty remarks about his clients (bit$%^, and you get the picture). He is a total low class person--but pretends with clients he is a pro, only later they can hear his month and true colors.

He ask SEOs to lie, cheat and do bad work for clients. Technically all he cares is that SEOs generates some Bullshit reports to the clients, and answer email, and phone calls-- to give the client the impression that they are working and doing a good job. He uses the typical theory that SEO takes at least 6 months to see results. It is after the 3rd month when clients start sensing that somethings is wrong and start demanding results.

The sales people leave him, SEOs leave him. Lawyer stays with him because he is the only one he pays him good money.

He wont pay his sales people, he wont pay the SEOs. A month can go by and SEOs keep asking to be pay. When they insist he gets real nasty with them.

Jim keeps 50% for him, just to be the link bet his sales guys and the SEOs. Of course after a while, you figure this is crazy and realized you are a total dumb for working for him. He does nothing!!! All the work is done from the sales guys who finds the clients, and the dumb SEO who work for nothing.

I can go on and on, but I assure you that im not a disgruntled freelancer. I dumped him because I didnt want to go to jail. He puts all the responsibility on the SEO and sales guys. If things get real nasty, he simply changes (rotates them) SEOs, so the client can see that the problem was on the bad SEO or sales guy, not the company--and this tactic buy him at least another 3 more months--to milk it more.

He really brainwash clients with all the first impressions and big promises. At one point, i told one of his client that he was getting rip-off (because i felt bad), to my surprised Jim turned it around and won the client back by taking me off that account... He told me that Bi@#ch just kept exaggerating and complaining none sense--he gave me another account. He talks a good game, it is hard for clients to noticed the  lies and rip-off for months.--especially when he prays on clients that dont understand much of how internet marketing really works, who cant read analytics or even know site analytics exist.. A little bit of research from clients, will show he is a fake. But he gains his trust at first, just to go for the kill later.

I'll stop here. I just though adding more facts to this complain in rip-off. Most sales or seos go on without reporting him to the BBB. Someone has to stop him. I cant belove he still in business.

Increasevisibility.com, Increase Visibility, TOPSEOS Scam

AUTHOR: Harrassed by Increase Visibility & - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, June 28, 2010

Hello -- The complaints here are absolutely accurate. A few months ago I contacted these people to inquire about their services after I saw them on TopSEOS. I was subsequently harrassed by Jim Lisi and his team of thugs who thought they could batter me into submission. The services they offer are sub par to say the least, especially considering their prices.

Additionally, they are completely unprofessional!!! And won't leave you alone even after you have clearly said "leave me alone!" And, I see he has cited TopSEOS.com as a reference. That is a JOKE my friends. I learned the hard way, that TOPSEOS is not INDEPENDENT! You PAY to PLAY.....So when you see increase visibility listed as number one on their site or on any list produced by them, be assured, they paid to get that ranking. Increase Visibility (incresevisibility.com) and it's credentials are a joke. Stay away and go with a reputable company and don't rely on TOPSEOS to get the company either....they too are a SCAM!

I totally agree with the original report

AUTHOR: beejeeman35 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, January 16, 2010

Hi,

Despite Jim Lisi's mia culpa here, I have to agree that the original post was 100% correct.  I do not know the person listed above, but had a VERY similar experience.

We started with Increase Visibility, and quickly found out that they not only outsourced all their work to India(which is fine if they are competent, they were not), but also never took to the time to realize what the website was even about, and was optimizing the site towards keyword phrases that were not even relevent.

It would be the equivilent of taking a sneaker website and optimizing for boat shoes. Constantly complaining that I didn't sell "boat shoes" led to absolutely no changes.

Not only that, this optimization was happening at a snails pace.  Emails would frequently go unanswered, and nothing was getting done.  After 3 months the site was no better off then it was before.

Despite frequent complains, they were still "optimizing" for the wrong words 3 months in!

Now this wasn't their only level of incompetence, but were not even competent enough to guard against the frequent misspellings that were soon spewed across my site.  Complaints about this led to being told I was overreacting.

Jim Lisi himself was not only a jerk to all parties involved, but tried to bully us, when we threatened to sue, making fraudulent claims about the contract we signed, alleging racism, and about the work that was being done.  We were lucky that we had free legal council at our disposal and I credit this with the only way we were able to get out of this contract.

I am actually a part time SEO consultant now, and credit this to the bad taste left in my mouth by Jim Lisi and Increase Visibility.

I have been in business many years now and have not had an experience as bad as with this company.

STAY AWAY!

#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company

A Response to Inaccurate Allegations Against Increase Visibility SEO and Jim Lisi

AUTHOR: Jim Lisi - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, May 07, 2009

As a business owner, it is very frustrating when anonymous people report
complaints like this one. The reality is that anyone can post whatever they
want here, without any proof, whether that is an angry ex-employee,
competitor, or whatever. My company, Increase Visibility, has been providing
high-level, quality search engine optimization services for many years. We
have over 250 very satisfied, long term clients. As a company, making sure
that our clients get great results is VERY important to us, and is reflected
in the fact that we have one of the highest client retention rates in the
business. But please, don't take our word for it, visit TopSEO's
(www.topseos.com) an independent rating site for SEO companies.

And for the party who left this complaint, I would certainly like to speak
to you to determine if you are, indeed, a past client. If so, and if you are
truly and fairly unhappy with services that have been provided to you, I
would gladly make it right. However, as the President of this company, I
have never to my knowledge had a client report feeling "ripped off", let
alone threatened a client with legal action if they expressed that. This allegation is patently false. It is very difficult to describe specifics about our side of a dispute when the author of this post has chosen to remain anonymous...and also strange that the poster appears to have used search engine optimized content within it...leading us to believe that this is actually a competitor posting it.

I truly would welcome you getting in contact with me so that we can ensure
that this is worked out in a mutually beneficial manner. For anyone else reading this that would like references about either myself or my company, feel free to email me at james.lisi@increasevisibility.com.

Sincerely,

James A. Lisi
President
Increase Visibility
