One day Jay Carroll stopped by at our house to leave a flayer what kind of work

he was doing. I asked him about replacing a roof on our patio. He told me that

it would cost $600 to replace roof about 10' by 12' including material. It was

very good price and I have agreed for the work. First he said that he will work

on it this coming Saturday (Aug.13, 2011) and he left. After few minutes Jay

came back with a contract and asking for half money so he would have to purchase

material. I did not agree to it, since I did not know the individual at all and

told him in a case like that I could give him half money after he will do half

of the work (take the old roof off). Jay said that I could trust him, he will be

to take care of the job etc. I still did not agree on it. So he said that he

will be back Saturday as he have told me originally with his crue

and after they will start the work he would ask me to pay half so he can have

the money for the material. I have agreed to that. To make sure that he was

still coming on Saturday I have called him on Friday evening (about 8pm), Jay

assured me that he still will be at my house first thing in the morning. Well,

Saturday 11:30am and still no Jay or his crue. At this point I feel that he is

very unreliable and will not use him for any work in the future. I am very glad

there was no money paid for a job that never got started. Be very careful with

individuals that ask for any money up front!
