Don't fall for the oldest trick in the book, you sign a retainer agreement that says once you paid the retainer then there is no getting it back. Johanna Mitchell and she will did very little to NO work and then bill my retainer out when I asked why. I paid this "attorney" a $2,000.00 retainer and had to remind her to file paper work. She almost cost me my whole case in regard to back child support owed to me. She was very rude and spent time talking about her horses and billed me for it. IF YOU NEED AN ATTORNEY I suggest you DO NOT USE HER! THE WORST SERVICE I EVER HAD! She was 2 hours late to my first meeting with her. THERE was a period of 2 weeks when she would not take my calls or return my emails and this was after her 2 week vacation! When I asked for the remaining portion of my retainer she said it was all used up in emailing back and forth. SHE NEVER stepped foot in a court room on my behalf. I had to hire a new attorney and in 2 days my new attorney accomplished more then she did in 3 months.

Not gonna waste time on specifics. but i will say this:2 years of retaining her and im still in the same position. she doesnt listen to clients reasoning she will wast ur time money and be to busy riding her horses to actually do any work. She had the nerve to leave the mediation with the respondent for hour n a half as if i was goin to pay for her blatant attempt to run up my bill..DO NOT FALL for her bs she is a Horrible attorney and shld be disbarred in my opinion. #Modifying a custody case no relief given

And I am wondering who in the world would tell the public that an attorney is not licensed when she obviously is and WHY?
This is crazy and makes no sense...
Maybe the attorney needs to think back on which back child support cases she may have handled.
One of the reasons I do NOT want to do family law.

Every allegation made in this report is not true, and neither my company nor I have ever had a client with the first name of "Maria", or a client with the first name of "Barry". I am in the process of investigating the true source of these fraudulent, malicious and slanderous allegations regarding myself and my Firm, so that I can initiate legal action against the person or individuals who made the false comments.
If you would like to check my references as an Attorney, my full name is Joanna Marie Mitchell. My Florida Bar Number is 346410. I have been licensed in the State of Florida as an Attorney since 2000. I have had my own Law Firm in Oviedo, Florida, where I practice as a sole practitioner, since 2003 (Joanna Mitchell & Associates, P.A. f/k/a Joanna M. Mitchell, P.A.). We specialize in all areas of Family Law (divorce, child support, paternity, etc.). If you check with the Florida Bar Lawyer Regulation office in Orlando (their number is 407-425-5424), you will find that I have never had a complaint filed where any cause or wrongdoing was found, I have had zero complaints in the past year, and I have never been subject to any disciplinary action by the Florida Bar.

YOU DESERVE AN ITEMIZATION AND EVEN IF SHE IS BILLING BY THE HOUR, IT DOES NOT TAKE LONG TO TYPE AN E-MAIL.
SOUNDS LIKE ATTORNEY MISCONDUCT TO ME.

AND she might not even be licensed to practice law...
There are a lot of THOSE around too... or maybe she lost her law license but is still illegally practicing law anyway.
There are pretty big penalties for holding yourself out to be a lawyer and getting money for practicing law and you aren't a lawyer..
