John D'Oneill came recommended to our family many years ago by another family attorney in New York (I'm unsure of their relationship).  For years he charged my family an astounding and unreasonable amount, billing hourly for work that was mediocre, never completed, and/or questionable at best. He made a VITAL MISTAKE on a deed that was meant to be created for a transfer of property (he miss-wrote the date causing the transfer to take place EIGHT YEARS after it was supposed to).  Because his employer (my grandmother) is extrememly kind-hearted and lives in England, she chose not to change lawyers long after she was recommended to.

Then over the last five years John D O'Neill was asked to help prepare a transfer of property from my Grandmother's name (a non-resident alien) to three of her Grandchildren's (all U.S. residents).  Mr. O'Neill STALLED this process FOR YEARS, charging my grandmother thousands of dollars for services never rendered and in the end never did what was asked of him and then REFUSED TO RETURN my 90 year-old grandmother's MONEY.  Eventually I found an attorney friend do make up the Transfer of Deed for a couple hundred dollars and she was able to complete IN TWO WEEKS what Mr. O'Neill "TOOK YEARS" and charged thousands of US Dollars to.

This man is an example of those that give practitioners of law a bad name in this country.  Stay away from him at all costs, he will tie you up in legal fees and extend the time it takes to do anything by an unreasonable amount.  We call these kind of people "thieves" where I come from.
