I was contacted by someone named John Kofi who claimed to be a barrister by email. He claimed several large trunks of cash were recovered by the airport authority in Accra, Ghana. Upon closer inspection one of the trunks had my name on it. He said I was entitled to $US18.5 million. I was very skeptical at first. I demand he produce some form of ID and confirmation of these alleged trunks of cash. He produced an ID and authentic looking documents for my inspection. However the red flags began to show when he wanted me to send him money for processing the documents. He said an UN diplomat courier will deliver the money directly to my residence. After some careful consideration I decided to pay the fee. He reported his courier had left Accra with the trunks of money and will arrive in Canada within twenty four hours. I received a phone call from the alleged courier two days later. He claimed he was detained by Canada Customs and wanted me to pay the release charges. I countered if he was able to leave Accra he should have all the necessary documents to clear him through Customs. Kofi contacted me two days later and claimed his courier had been released to come to my city to search for me. He even taken photos of my neighbors citing as proof of his presence in my city. He even threaten to get me arrested if I do not comply with his orders. I went to the authorities and report4ed this incident to them. The duty officer assure me these two suspects are scam artists. I do not have to be afraid of them nor their empty threats. These scam artists had stolen over $US18.5 million dollars from me. I want the public to be aware of these criminals.

Not to pour salt into the wound but you state "After some careful consideration I decided to pay the fee".
At what point did you make a careful, well informed decision?
I would hate to have seen what you would have done without some careful consideration, due diligence and good decision making.
I'm sorry you got ripped off but...........
Why does the promise of a trunk ( really, a trunk?) full of money turn regular people stooooopid!
Sorry to be harsh, but c'mon. No one is going to send you a trunk ( again, really a trunk? ) filled with cash

John Kofi Agyekum Kufuor (born 8 December 1938) was the second president of the 4th Republic of Ghana (20012009) and Chairperson of the African Union (20072008). His victory over John Atta-Mills after the end of Jerry Rawlings' second term marked the first peaceful democratic transition of power in Ghana since the country's independence in 1957.Kufuor's career has been spent on the liberal-democratic side of Ghanaian politics, in the parties descended from the United Gold Coast Convention and the United Party. He was a minister in Kofi Abrefa Busia's Progress Party government during Ghana's Second Republic, and a Popular Front Party opposition frontbencher during the Third Republic. In the Fourth Republic he stood as the New Patriotic Party's candidate at the 1996 election, and then led it to victory in 2000 and 2004. Having served two terms, in 2008 he was no longer eligible for the presidency.
Don't think he would be emailing random people!
