John Moore Services cut my mothers water off and demanded payment of $6,899.87 for water leak. i fixed leak for $17 Houston Texas

My mother had a water leak at her house. She called John Moore Services and a technician arrived within 3-4 hours. The technician informed my mother she had a severe water leak, and water must be turned off until she gets it fixed. The technician proceeded to shut off water at the meter.

John Moore presented my mother with two solutions. One is what they call "Good" solution came to $2,998.98. The "Better" solution came out to $6,899.87. They informed her that water can not be restored until she pays for services.

I told my mother to not pay anything until I come look at it. I arrived and quickly determined the source of the leak. After seeing what parts I needed, I fixed the leak in about 1 hour. All parts cost me $17.

John Moore held my mother hostage by shutting her water off and demanding payments for work that did not need to be done. They had no right shutting off the water at the meter. I called and complained and was told "the technician should of presented another option" but  other than that, they did nothing wrong.

Fortunately I was in town and was able to help my mother and she was not ripped off as she was about to pay due to not having water. I feel what they did was criminal and have filed complaint with Texas Attorney Generals office. I have read similar reviews regarding John Moore, so please be careful if you decide to go with them.
