John Moore Overcharging for simple service liars Houston Texas

Do not trust John Moore.  One July afternoon, we noticed our central A/C was not cooling the house.  We purchased the home the previous September and the home inspection came back clean.   My wife was at home that day and called John Moore to take a look.  She calls me later almost in tears saying the whole system is bad and that it is going to cost 13,000 to replace.  The technician sent onsite said the system and components were "fried" and gave her a long list of things that needed to be replaced.  The fan motor, the condensor, the compressor, etc etc.  I know a "little" about a/c systems and hvac units from work and it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE for all those items to go out at once barring a catastropic event like fire.  It is much more common for a fan motor or something similar to go out, but just that one item.  

My wife was distraught but smart enough to send him away and call another a/c company.  They came out and in less than 10 minutes, diagnosed and fixed the problem.  It was a bad capacitor on the unit which is a common item to go out.  To put it in perspective, this item is 40 dollars at your local Home Depot.  Does this sound absolutely insane?  On my word, this is the truth.  Truth is stranger than fiction, sometimes.  I showed the good guy the estimate John Moore and he literally just didn't know what to say.  The disbelief is subsiding and I want everyone to know, you cannot trust these guys.  The technician used buzz words like "fried" to try to scare people in signing on a new system.  The John Moore technician tried to prey on my wife and home.  I am writing a complaint to any and every agency I can get ahold of because this obvious and blatant lie is fraud and should be illegal.   I hope this complaint helps someone avoid them.
