I too have become a victim of this horrible excuse for a company. I can't believe this. All my life I feel I have been smarter than this. I feel so stupid, betrayed and victimized. So my son hears an advetisement on the radio for talent. He calls I talk to the woman who does the intake whose name is Teresa. We set up an auditon for the following day. Son goes out for the audition and just like many of you reported it was a room full of familys and children. My son auditioned and did great! Red flag one we forgot the so needed picture they ask you to bring in. So we get a call back and was told to make sure we bring in my husband. So we all go as a family to this God Forsaken place. So he auditions for the woman from Europe again and a guy whose name slips my mind I'm sure you all can help me out. Not the asian one the other guy with the spikey hair. Anyway we get caught up in the excitment of it all and again like many of you I did not read the fine print. The following day the spirit awoke me to read the contract after reading I turned on my computer to research the company and found all the other victims from this awful company. Dear God Why! "You may have nothing but we don't care well drain your account anyway". I am disabled this was my disability money! At the time of signing I had nothing in my account and they put the Three hundred dollars through which put my account at negative $333 dollars. Unfourtunatley I was too late to reverse the charges. So three hundres and thirty-three dollars of my lively hood is gone and there's nothing I can do about it. Son is crushed but I told him don't give up on your dream. My bank told me to contact the company but by reading that's not going to happen. I will be darn if they think they will get another two hundred from me. I wish there was a lawyer or someone who could help and be willing to go into class action against this company. OMG! I am just sick behind this horror. Dear God Stop Them!!!!!!!

To your response I am so happy that your daughter is doing so well. Good job for her! You are correct no one forced me to sign a contract and NEVER will my eyes be blinded again and it's funny out of the HUNDREDS of reports here I get a response. So to whoever in your company responded you must have felt like trash to find me and respond to me. Go prey on someone else and leave me in peace I have already let everyone I know and who they know and anyone who will listen so no more need to be confused. For the record they lost out cause my son did get accepted by a real agent in a real agency!

My daughter has been with John Robert Powers for the past month, and we have had nothing but a positive experience. Another mother in the program was speaking to me about the negative comments about this company so I wanted to come online and read them for myself.
I am very confused by this post, and find it very difficult to understand how this company is a scam after reading this, and how you are a victim. You are stating that John Robert Powers forced you to pay for their program? You don't need to do anything you don't want to do. If you are on disability and by paying the $333 put you negative, then why would you tell them that you would pay? You are the person who signed the contract, and agreed for them to charge you, nobody forced you.
I find this company a wonderful start to my daughter's acting career, and look forward to her success. Her teacher is extremely professional and is always willing to tell me how to help my daughter at home. This company is not an agency, and everything they have promised me which is stated in my contract, they have met my expectations.
I truly wish your son luck with what he wants to do, but again, nobody forced you to sign that contract or give them any money. That was your decision to do it. It's a wonderful experience and some of the kids in my daughters class have already signed with an agent, so I'm excited for my daughter's development in this program so she can live her dreams!
