I signed up for JoiPhone Service in October 2007. I have had technical problems with their service since then. The most recent issue has been ongoing since the beginning of March. I have contacted their technical support team and after several phone calls they finally decided to claim that they will look into it. I found out later that they weren't even looking into it and then I had to redo everything they already asked me to do a couple of weeks earlier! This included having to make test calls which they then charged me for! I complained about the amount of time it's taking them to solve the problem and that I'm not getting the service that I already PREPAID for. Meanwhile I was getting charged by them for the extra calls (outside my plan) that I was making. When calling Joiphone, they only have the option to talk to tech support or sales. I asked the tech support agent to transfer me to billing so I can resolve my bill, but they said they can only be contacted by email. So I told them I need to resolve the bill issue, so that I won't get disconnected. They told me not to worry about my bill until the technical issue gets resolved. I emailed billing to let them know about this. A couple weeks later, (with the technical issue still unresolved) they disconnected my service. I tried emailing them and it took them 6 DAYS! to answer. All they said is that i need to pay my bill - not considering anything I said in the email. I emailed them back explaining the situation again (for the third time) but they are still not looking into the issue. Meanwhile, I've already prepaid for the basic service and nearly half the international calls I've made which are actually billable, were unsuccessful due to the technical issue. Now I am stcuk without phone service and with no way to resolve the problem. The company takes several days to respond to emails, and I can't reach them by phone because a) they disconnected my service, b) they are not reachable by phone.

Mayan used JoiPhone service for over 6 months with no reported issues. The customer made over 700 calls totaling over 4400 minutes many were international calls. The customer received a bill for $76.82 which the customer did not pay. JoiPhone requested the customer to make payment, but the customer did not. Eventually JoiPhone suspended the account for non payment. The account is still suspended because the customer still carries a balance. On top of the service balance of $76.82 the customer also owes JoiPhone $85 for not returning the loaned equipment JoiPhone provided to customer valued at over $80. If the customer had problem calling some international destinations, the customer should have called the call center and ask for troubleshooting, if needed customer would receive credit for calls she did not complete.

JoiPhone does provide some of the best priced service on the Internet, but does not provide FREE service. A customer that does not pay his/her bill will be suspended and will be responsible for payment.
