Joseph Hunter, Rawson Publishing Company sent a fraudulent check from a bank address which didnt exist Granite City Minnesota

I was sent a check in the amount of $4,875.00 with Rawson Publishing Company from Granite Falls, MN. Check was supposedly honored by the Citizens State Bank in Clara City, MN.

Being slightly suspicious because I had not entered any sweepstakes I called the Citizens State Bank in MN and asked them if they had a bank at the address on the check of: 126 N. Main street, Clara City, MN. Bank said NO they had no bank at that address.

Letter told me to call 01127783769030. I called this number and a Joseph Hunter answered. I asked him what this check was all about. He told me to deposit it into my bank account and then call him back when it was deposited and he would tell me where to send $3,000 tax of the $4,875...said I could keep the rest.

I immediately told him that there was NO CITIZENS STATE BANK listed at the address on the check. He said...YOU'RE WRONG and he HUNG UP ON ME.

The check appears to look very legitimate and I'm sure a number of people might even deposit it in their accounts without checking first to see what its all about. In that case they would be out the money they send to this "Joseph Hunter" and would be liable for that amount back to the bank.

This is unfair and a total rip off for people to be duped like this from a person and/or company! Some people would be gullible and not check into it and they would in the end, lose money from their accounts to cover the bogus amount that they sent to this Joseph Hunter.

I think a class action suit should be filled to make these people pay something for individuals they are trying to rip off!!!
