Consigning with Joy's was a terrible experience. They consigned my pieces for pennies on the dollar and told me "that is what the market will bear"...they also take a 15% fee on top of their portion of the sale. The 15% fee is charged to the buyer...so buyer beware!!! My pieces sold in February and I still have not been paid (it is 3 months later). The agreement I signed said I would be paid on the 15th of the month following the sale. They said the check was cut twice and each time has been lost in the mail. Ridiculous. I will never, ever work with them again and will do what I can to warn everyone who has any intention of working with them.

This individual has been paid. The reason this consignor did not get her check
right away,was due to a minor spelling error of the street address. The street name, zip code, and city were correct! The post office did not return the two checks I issued back to the store. A retailer can only re-issue a check after 30 days of not clearing the bank. This is standard practice for any company. The percentages were off due to an added fee written in the contract. This 15% buyers fee is to cover the cost of our
advertising on the radio for our customers as well as bags, tags, shrink wrap etc.
This added fee was contractually agreed upon by the consignor. We are not a regular retail store with 200% markup, therefore this covers the cost so we can stay in business. Buyers must be aware that every item in our store is owned by 3rd parties,therefore we cannot exchange, trade, or barter. By the way, this individual has submitted this report under 3 different names!
