The Amazon Branded Credit Card issued by Chase Bank, part of JPMorgan Chase Company, charged me a $15 "EPay Fee" for paying online. I have paid online for the past three years, and I typically pay twice a month (I never carry a balance). This was the second payment of the month (I had already paid the balance of the earlier billing cycle and would not have owed any money or had any late fees had I not paid). Chase claimed that I authorized them to charge me $15 to pay a $44 in charges that I charged during the billing cycle. I never authorized such a fee, and they refused to supply me with ANY documentation that I authorized the fee. I never authorized it, and never would have.

cut off time for payments

Reading over your report it seems that the reason you were charged is because there is a 14.95 fee to post a payment after 4 pm est. the only reason you would need to use this option is when it is the day your payment is due and you need the payment to post with that same day's date in order to avoid being late. i have chase credit cards and the computer will always automatically go to the following day's date after 4pm. if you swith the date back, you will be charge the fee and it does let you know before you submit the payment. it sounds like you may have swith the date back even though it was unnecessary. sometimes customer service reps will understand it was done in error and there wasn't a legitimate reason to force a payment that was already taken care of earlier in the month and waive the fee. its worth a try.
