In August 2009 I purchased a 1999 Old Bravada from Mr.Proudman @ this company. I put a deposit of $1000 and then was being charged $50 a week paid monthly. Sometimes I did pay bi-weekly if my paychecks allowed. Mr. Proudman is usually drinking when I would go to make my payments and this made me uncomfortable. One time he told me if I ever have money problems and cannot pay that I could pay him with Loratab pills or any other prescription pills if available. I advised him that I wouldn't be having problems and where would I get pills anyhow. After that I made my husband go to pay him every month. My last payment to him was $200 3/19/2010. Yesterday 4/19/2010 my husband had $200 in his pocket and was off of work and kept my vechicle. Daniel Proudman came to our home and repossessed our vechicle. It had been 30 days since the last payment. The police were called and told me that because the title is in Mr.Proudmans name that he is the legal owner. BEcause when I purchased the truck he told me that because I still owed a balance the title would need to be put in his name and I would need to register and insure it. The police had much sympathy but couldnt do anything. I did however learn that what this "business owner" should have done is have the title in my name as I am the owner and he should have been onthe title as a leinholder. He did this his way because he wanted to avoid paying some fees he would be responsible for as a "business owner". My husband called him and told him he was bringing the entire $400, thats right, $400 that we owe and was informed by Mr.Proudman that we would not have that option and that he is putting the vechicle up for sale. HE got $2400 of payments from me and now is refusing to take the $400 we owe to pay it off..He took my license plates off and when refused to give them to me to transfer them to another vechicle..Here we wanted to keep our business in the neighborhood. This man is a scumbag, he is refusing to even let me get my personal belongings, including my elderly father in laws handicap mirror hanger from the car. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH JP'S AUTO SALES AND REPAIR OR DANIEL PROUDMAN... HE WILL RIP YOU OFF ...I have filed a formal complaint with the DMV and with the Better Business Bureau and now am reporting this on here. I am a working woman who lives paycheck to paycheck and had to take a day off without pay today to borrow money from my family to purchase another car and put it on the road.....DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH JP'S AUTO SALES AND REPAIR...YOU WILL REGRET IT.
