Juneau Bone and Joint Center Charged for surgery never performed, and stated that's what they do. Juneau Alaska

I was ordered by my emergency department to take my xrays to Juneau Bone and Joint Center for recommendation. When I arrived Dr. Martin, who never even touched my broken wrist, said he already saw my xray, I need surgery, and he scheduled it for tomorrow morning. Having been up all night, I said I am not deciding before I go to bed whether I am consenting to surgery at all, and I am NOT having surgery tomorrow.

Turns out they charged my insurance for the surgery anyway after I did nothing but put an internet-purchased brace on my wrist. I told them that was not true, you didnt do the surgery, and they said we charge for the surgery at the time it is recommended, whether I agree to have it or not.

I called my insurance company who didn't seem to give a d**n, and told the Bone Center I am making no payments to them until they correct the charges they already took and give me corrected billing info. I had let them do a followup appointment to confirm my wrist was fine and to recommend physical therapy, so there were valid charges but not the amount they paid themselves for wrist surgery.

Nobody did anything after that and yesterday I got a bill from a collections agency, who I contacted and they will follow up on what I told them.

The broken wrist incident occurred on New Years Day, 2014.
