Just Brakes - Ocoee, FL Tried To Rip An 80 Year Old Woman Off Ocoee Florida

On 11/14/08 at approximately 10:00 am, my nephew took my mother's 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan to Just Brakes to have the brakes done. Upon arrival, they were told that the charge would be 39.95 for the inspection to which my mother agreed. After said inspection, I received a call with verbal total estimate of $1000.00+. I immediately told my mother to forget it... I then received another call a few minutes later with a new estiimate of $459.16.

My mother and newphew arrived back to my home (20 minutes later) without the vehicle, but had a written estimate to show me. ( It stated that there was a stress crack in the rotor - IMPOSSIBLE) After reviewing the estimate, I immediately called Just Brakes at 1:30 pm and told them to stop all work and to have the vehicle back in the condition it was brought in at. I was told that the brake job was completed. When I asked how that could be only within 20+ minutes, he could not give me an answer. I immediately called corporate to complain to Stupervisor DEAN. I then called the local Just Brakes and demandwed that the vehicle be again returned to it's original condition.

I drove directly there after the telephone conversation to pick up the vehicle which was still on the lift, not completed. I was then approached by the Manager, Justin who stated that it would take 1 hour and complained that we wasted HIS time. A few moments later, I received a call from Just Brakes offeriing me a deal of $400.00 out the door. Once again I refused.

Approximately 1-1/2 later, I returned to Just Brakes to retreive the vehicle. The vehicle was still on the lift. At that time, I became very upset to know that they have now wasted my time of a total of 6+ hours... After standing there for 20+ minutes waiting for them to put back together the vehicle, I noticed that they were only putting back on 4 lug nuts onto 5 lugs... When I brought that to their attention, the mechanic stated that he did not speak english.

At that time, I became irate and counted the lug nuts in spanish all the way to "cinco". He still played stupid and called another mechanic to talk to me. Upon approach of the other mechanic, he stated that they would order 2 additional lug nuts and that they were on the way to Just Brakes... Not even 5 minutes later, he said that they found them inside one of the bays and placed them on... At that time, Justin approached me and stated that he would not release the vehicle to me because I was not the owner and that my mother would have to pick it up...

When I explained to Justin that my mother was 80+ years old and that she was at my home with a heating pad on her back and that she just recently had an electrod surgically implanted into her back and that she was in pain and unable to pick the vehicle up herself, his reply was "TOO BAD"... My mother eventually came with my husband to Just Brakes to retrieve the vehicle.... There was no charge...

Oh, I forgot to mention that I made a telephone call to our local WFTV Channel 9 News to place a complaint while the "NO Speaka Da English" mechanic was overhearing... Funny how he can understand only certain English words... DO NOT and I warn everyone, DO NOT have your brakes done at Just Brakes. They are a total RIP OFF!
