Kaplan Univeristy Kaplan and their financal aid offices are a huge ripoff Tampa Florida

I have been attending Kaplan University since November of 2005 and had no issues with the school until after i graduated in October of 2006. I had waited about a month and i had not received my diploma or cap and gown so I called Kaplan and they told me the reason I had not received my diploma is because i have a balance on my account for a little over 1500 and I asked them why is that and Kaplan told me because I had no finical aid for my July term. I told them yes i do and they said no you are wrong and you owe us this money, so i decided to call Fafsa and they told me that Kaplan was wrong that my Fafsa was turned in and approved and applied before my July term even started and gave me some information to tell Kaplan. I called Kaplan back as soon as I got off the phone with Fafsa and they were still trying to tell me i didn't have any aid so the lady got a supervisor and I had to tell her the story and what Fafsa had told me so she started looking at my account and said oh there it is it just wasn't applied to your account sorry that is our fault, and i said so what now and she said let me apply a pell to your account and you will still owe us 710.00 so i was ok so can you apply that to my student loans since it was your fault as you had said and the supervisor told me know they cannot do that because i had already graduated and they cannot open or apply a loan after that student had graduated even if it is the school's fault. I called Fafsa again and told them what Kaplan was doing and Fafsa told me that Kaplan was wrong again that if the school admits that it was there mistake and it was less than 90 days they could apply it to my student loans that i had through Kaplan and the lady from Fafsa told me to have them look in the rules and procedures book for finical aid and told me the page and article to show Kaplan. I called Kaplan again and told them what Fafsa had told me to tell them and they said that Fafsa does not know what they are talking about and i have to pay the 710 or i will never get my diploma and to this very day nothing has been resolved. This hasn't been easy to deal with so i have finally got the money to pay them the 710 and after almost a year fight i will have my diploma and I still feel I should not have to pay this to them. I would not recommend this school and there screwed up aid office to my worst enemy. I think they should have to refund me this money I am sending them next week but we know that is not to likely to happen. So please avoid the headaches and trouble to yourself and avoid this school at all cost or it will cost you in the long run.
