I was just looking at getting another dog when I stumbled upon all of the reports about Karla and Kardon's Cockapoos. I knew I would not purchase a dog from her again but it was interesting to read the terrible things that others suffered. I DID purchase a dog from her (in case her rebuttal says I didn't!). I let my daughter pick from the pictures available as we were overseas and buying a puppy for our return to the US. Karla remarked on the one we picked that she had a feeling we would pick him and she knew that I was looking for a low shedding dog due to allergies in our kids. She remarked that her dogs were non-shedding but that one might shed "a little" but that would "go away" when he got his real coat. Well, I decided to take a chance because he was my daughter's choice and looked a lot different then the others. To make a long story short, the initial $$ discussions were in the $1200 range but I didn't want to go that high so she said she would sell our pup to us for $950 instead. I bit. We bought. Today, we have a happy healthy very weepy eyed, high shedding, long flowing white hair, orangey red spotted white dog that looks extremely like a King Charles Spaniel and not at all like a cockapoo. I have had at least 100 people comment on my King Charles Spaniel over the past 2.5 years. I would agree with what all other posters said about the puppy mill environment. The owner, Karla, was nice enough but it was an obvious mate 'em and sell 'em as quick as I can "business". She still even has the male that "sired" my dog (and look positively nothing like mine!). I guess you can mate a male many times. He is just a dude. Poor guy. At least the mom isn't still putting out litters. I would hope that business slows down with the economic downturn. Maybe she'll give it up....

I really do not know who you are but IF you bought a puppy from me and it turned out to be a smooth coat cockapoo I would have let you know around 5-6 weeks when I can tell if they will be smooth coats. If you had some issue with me why not contact me, why wait almost 3 years and then post on here?
I have only sold 1 puppy to a family out of the country who was returning to California, not Kirkland. And their pup is a really curly dark sable boy...
All dogs shed (to some degree) and I tell people that, smooth coats normally shed because they have the cocker coat. It was even on my web site and so I don't know what else to say about that. I cannot guarantee they wont shed, nobody can.
I have never bred or even owned a King Charles Spaniel so there is no way that is what you got. I have only bred cockapoos! I have sold 2 red and white parti smooth coat cockapoos and they were very much wanted, and I hear from the owners and get pics...
i honestly do not know you, you must be one of the breeders who have attacked me on here before trying to get me shut down. I now only own 5 dogs and I do not breed anymore due to a severe back injury.. Chantilly is one of my dogs, why would you bring her name into it? I am really confused...
Also, I have never charged 1200.00 for a cockapoo in my life. And males were 750.00 and 850.00, smooth coats I normally sold for $650.00.... All I could do to prove that is show you my bill of sale records.
Why on earth would you put my private home address on an open web site like that? This is my home, how would you like it if someone put your home address all over the internet? I am unlisted/unpublished so what you did was out of line and possibly a danger to me and my family.
I have addressed the issues of your "complaint" to the best of my ability and if you did get a puppy from me (I have a good memory) contact me and we can fix the situation. If you are that upset I would be more than happy to give you all of your money back. I will need your name though so I can look up the contract, or bring/mail me a copy of the contract so I can see exactly what you paid for him.
Since you have my address you should have my email address and phone number...
