I have done many appraisals for Karis Management and they have always been very communicative. From what I know of the industry, deadlines are set by the lender which is then relayed to the appraiser through the AMC (Appraisal Management Company) such as Karis. If a deadline was reset, I am sure it was not a random act by Karis, and the lender would have had to know and should have relayed that information to the client.

The chain of communication is Appraiser>AMC>Lender>Client.

As far as the rebuttal comment from JJones, he is sorely mistaken. Karis has nothing to do with the appraised value, that is 100% the appraiser that is hired. Karis is the AMC that contracts the appraiser and acts as a third party between the lender and appraiser to help keep things impartial, helping remove the pressure and manipulation appraisers once received from the lenders in their value opinions.

They do not benefit or profit from from an appraisal coming back at a low value, and neither does the appraiser. We are bound by a code of ethics that keeps us fair and impartial when assigning values. I am sorry that JJones was not happy with the appraised value of his home, but his blame is misplaced.

Furthermore, if JJones knew that Karis designates 99% of their profit for non-profit gifting, he would realize that they are not operating out of any semblance of greed.  

I have had nothing but good experiences with this company. Appraisers in general usually resent working for AMCs, but Karis makes the process better in my opinion and is hands down the best AMC out there!

This company does not care of the customers they are appraising for, It is all about the dollar. They will appraise the home your are trying to buy considerability lower than it worth just to take your money. Make sure you keep in contact with your Mortgage company to be sure they do not hire this company. It could mean the loss of the house you want.

I have done several appraisals for this company and they are professional, prompt and great to work with.  Different from consumer contact, the appraiser works directly with them as a vendor and I can't say that I have had better communication and professionalism than this company.

We have done a lot of work for this company and they are anything but unprofessional.  Things happen in this industry as they do in all, but KARIS goes above and beyond w levels of communication that surpass all others we have worked with.  I can't know who caused the delay, but in my experience it would be the borrower/seller as is most common and that creates a whole game changer in itself.  5 stars to KARIS MANAGAEMENT GROUP and 1 star to the person who wrote this for AWFUL spelling!!
