A friend of mine directed me to this website after reading all the reviews about Kasamba. I have used Kasamba for the past 4 years, and for a 2 year period, obsessively along with other friends who did exactly the same.

At the time I was going through a break-up of a relationship and was at my wits end. At the end of the day I spent SO much money on this site, enough to put a deposit on another home!! BUT the main reason I kept coming back was because of all the 'amazing' information they used to give, which used to fuel my desire to know more!

In reality, many many of the readings I had I am embarrassed to say I was duped!! I have come to learn that Kasamba is nothing more than a huge scam, mostly populated by groups of people taking advantage of people who are for the most part emotionally and mentally vulnerable.

For the most part for someone like me to look back now that I am thinking straight and think that I spent so much money on rubbish makes me cringe with embarrassment.

I will say that there are one or two readers that genuinely are gifted, but they are surely outnumbered by the bad 25-1.

Below is a transcript I sent Kasamba in April 06, and below that their feeble reply. To be honest, I would have consulted a lawyer to take legal action against this site, but I would have found it HUGELY embarrassing to admit what I had done. SO SO many of my readings are with readers who are no longer registered, meaning they were eventually found to be dishonest!

I look at some of the readers with their obsessive clients and wonder how they can actually sleep at night taking the money they do and not referring them to get some sort of help.

If any good can come of my ordeal is that someone in a similar situation to where I was 2 years ago reads this and it makes them think twice about spending so much money and basically putting your life on hold whilst you're waiting for 'things' to happen, then that will a good thing.

At the end of the day, I was willing to listen to psychics, even though you never know what they say will happen or not, BUT I was not willing to be part of an outrageous scam to make money from peoples misfortunes, which Kasamba as a company was the main perpetrator by allowing this to happen and taking their time to investigate complaints and editing reviews to misrepresent readers abilities whilst revenue was still being generated from these accounts.

Start of message ----
Dear Kasamba,

I am extremely concerned at the way you are managing this site, and your apparent assistance in supporting readers attempts to obtain custom by editing and doctoring client reviews in such a way that they don't reflect the actual true client feedback.

Feedback is very instrumental in who you choose to have a reading with, but to find out time after time that you edit the reviews to reflect a favourable outcome, or take off very valid comments for a person who leaves one star for a reader is, basically a fraudulent attempt to obtain money by means of deceit.

Your Disclaimer states that "Kasamba shall not be responsible for the quality of information or the authentication of the services or details given by experts on the site." It doesn't state that we will also endeavour to falsify and misrepresent reviews in order that we may have as many clients as possible!

This week you have selectively revised two reviews which I left for Truth & Light under the name BJB64 and one I left last night for Psychic Isabelle under the name YBB57, both of which I paid a large amount of money for, and neither of which were negative towards the reader.

You also altered today a reading left by a client for Truth & Light by a MS. M33, surprise surprise!! She left a review which echoed alot of my concerns and today it suddenly vanished!

When we finish a session, the box for rating comes up and quotes "In order to help us build a better information resource, we would appreciate any comments you may have regarding your session with ??" You do not state that we will then manipulate your comments to reflect the reader in the most favourable light thus generating more readings and commission for Kasamba.

I have come to realise with many of the 'new and wonderful' readers that they are nothing more than present readers logged on under different names, accepting clients that they already have history with, thus generating excellent feedback and very high rates. I know this happens because when you try to log on with a name they don't recognise, they don't accept the call, but the minute you come back a moment later with a name they do (even though you have never spoken to them) they take the call and proceed to give you 'outstanding' information, which in all truth, if they were that excellent would be charging $1,000 per hour and be booked up for the next 10 years!

There was one such reader who has acted this way, and I notice that from today they are no longer a registered user, Hakima the Sorcerer. This may be purely a coincidence, but I probably don't think so. I am sick of having to change my name in order that I appear to get a genuine reading, and I would like to ask you what precautions you take to make sure readers don't try to log on under a different name?

Do you cross reference on IP addresses? Do you cross reference on Banking details they give for commission to be paid? I have written 3/4 times over the past 2 years with similar queries, but mostly objecting to having my genuine reviews edited, I have never said anything that is not true, or could not be proved, and I have spent a lot of money on this site.

This kind of behaviour is unacceptable, and not only does it discredit you as a company but it also isn't fair to the genuine talented readers there are on Kasamba. Keen don't operate such a system, reviews are instant and unedited whilst Kasamba always have a delay whilst reviews are being edited. I understand the need to review and edit malicious attempts to discredit a reader, but what you do, goes way beyond that, and is totally unacceptable.

I will consider your reply, but I strongly feel I will be making a serious complaint to my credit card company about this site, and this will be backed up by all my previous complaints to you on this matter. Sincerely,

Kasamba's reply!!

Thank you for contacting Kasamba.

Rating comments allow you to leave your opinion about a session you conducted with an expert. You may leave comments, however, the comment should not include detailed information about a specific session or add further information for the expert. At Kasamba, we reserve the right to edit ratings comments of this nature, or any other comments considered defamatory. If you would like to reply to this email with some of the comments removed, |I would be glad to look at them again.

I would also like to reassure you that we do not condone multiple Expert accounts in the same category group by a single person. In such cases where we have proof of multiple Experts accounts, the Expert is removed from the site.

"Hakima the Sorcerer" is no longer associated with Kasamba due to unrelated and confidential reasons.

Response to UK67

AUTHOR: Iris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, October 23, 2007

Dear UK67 - Thank you so much for writing this complaint, as it brings up several important points. I am a reader at Kasamba, and regularly tell clients to STOP waiting for a dead relationship... to STOP calling psychics so much... and to START taking their power back! I do not endorse psychic addiction, and feel that if a client comes to me too often, they are trading one addiction for another. I discourage that type of unhealthy behavior.

Regarding the editing of comments/ratings. I have seen that occur quite often. However, as a reader, when a client has left me a 1-star rating with a horrible nasty comment (very often not even truly reflective of the reading), and I have asked Kasamba to remove it, they will NOT change it. It is their policy to not change ratings when asked by experts. Their modification of your comments are solely at their discretion, and we have no control over that.

There was also a comment above about the use of full names. I will only ask for first names. When a client offers me their full name (first and surname), I actually remind them of the danger of that. It can lead to identity theft, as well as a reader's ability to "g**gle" the name for information.

I advise clients to give as little information as possible. First name and dob only. By the way, the only reason to get dob is to verify that the client is over the age of 18. I do not even want dob for any of the other names in the reading!

Some clients pop in and start telling me their life story, the whole history of the situation, way too much information! I remind them that a good psychic will TELL them. Too many so-called psychics use gypsy or fishing techniques to get information, and then as you type something, they will write "I was just about to say that!"

Some clients pop in and click hire within seconds. I always click out immediately. Any psychic who wants you to hire that quickly is just in it for the money.

Any psychic who wants extensive information before doing a reading, is just in it for the con. I may anger and alienate some people by saying this, but I'm not here to be popular. I'm here to get people on the right road with their lives.

If you spent thousands calling psychics, do not be embarrassed, as you are human, and many people do all sorts of unhealthy things when in an emotional crisis, from alcohol, to drugs, to psychics. Many intelligent, educated women have called psychics. We all have moments of weakness. Do not beat yourself up about it anymore... BUT do take responsibility from this moment forward and don't keep justifying the behavior.

There are a few clients/experts who post here, claiming that I am "rude." Perhaps my version of tough love is not sensitive enough for them, but again, I am not here to be popular. What I say might rub you the wrong way. I might call you on your sh** directly. I don't mince words. I tell it like it is.

Just bear in mind that Kasamba and its many psychics (legit and fake) is simply a microcosm of a bigger problem. Fraud in the psychic world has run rampant for thousands of years, from the Internet, to telephone, to storefronts. There are frauds in all walks of life - unscrupulous home contractors, bad lawyers, doctors, politicians, etc. And also remember that people CHOOSE to call psychics, and then keep calling them even after predictions don't come true. Who's at fault? Everyone. The blame should be equally distributed. Personal responsibility is key here.

The bigger problem is that women (the majority of the clients are female) get their sense of self-esteem from whether or not a man loves them. They seek that external validation. When a relationship ends, or goes South... the women spiral downward emotionally and think melodramatically that no one will ever love them again... that they'll grow old alone... etc.

I can't tell you how many clients are women having affairs with married men! So many date co-workers and bosses! So many carry a torch for a guy who dumped them, told them to go away, has moved onto a new relationship, even gotten married, and these women - years later - still call psychics and ask "Is he coming back?" I slam my hand to my forehead in disbelief. The delusion and emotional instability is staggering.

Regardless, since I went off on a tangent there -- hopefully with the corporate takeover by LivePerson, there will be changes at Kasamba. I am sure that this post will be attacked by the few who have it in for me, but I just wanted to let you know - UK67 - that your articulate comments were appreciated.

YES, Kas is editing the reviews for the better!!

I had a very bad reading with a obviously con artist. This person asked for whole names and cause of that she was able to pick up on names. Saying that is her connection.
I rated her 1 star, told Kas about the case and asked for a refund. I didn't recieve one and they edited my rating as well and deleted the most important infos I had regarding this reader! They also ignored my mail to them, that she MUST be a fraud.
