I am allergic to ammonia and chose Kasia because of their organic approach to beauty treatments. I now know that this operation is doing nothing more than greenwashing and they care little about their professional integrity. After getting my hair colored at Kasia, I instantly experienced a great deal of scalp irritation. Kasia caused me a rash that lasted almost three weeks!  What's worse, the color didn't work. It did not cover my grey and the color faded after a week or so. THE RASH THEY CAUSED ME LASTED LONGER THAN THE COLOR!

Being a medical professional, I decided to research the issue further. I learned that KASIA uses a product called MASTEY for their color treatments. I came across this research study http://tinyurl.com/ammonia-free-hair-color performed by the former head of the FDA. Mastey is excessively carcinogenic and toxic.

On their website, they invite expected mothers to use this product. MY GOD! How professionally negligent! Where is their integrity?

Check Ripoff Reports History

AUTHOR: Jetskreemr - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, August 30, 2012

All anyone has to do to check the accuracy of this Ripoff Report complaint is check the Better Business Bureau for information about "Ripoff Report" aka Bad Business Bureau LLC out of Tempe AZ. The BBB gives this website/company an F based on 38 complaints received by the BBB. That tells you right there all you need to know about their so-called "claims" of being ripped off. This website sounds like a modern day mafia to me!

http://www.bbb.org/us/Find-Business-Reviews/name/Ripoff+Report/

And FWIW, I am a long-time customer of Kasia's, including hair color, and have many skin allergies, and I've never had any problems with their coloring. Not to mention, the color lasts a long time and covers my gray hair beautifully!

PROOF KASIA IS USING PPD SUBSTITUTES THAT CAUSE CANCER!!!

AUTHOR: Man of Men - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, February 10, 2012

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2,5-Diaminotoluene

Kasia says 2,5-Diaminotoluene isnt a PPD substitute and doesnt cause cancer.

WHICH IS WEIRD, BECAUSE WIKIPEDIA SAYS THIS -
"2,5-Diaminotoluene is a substitute for phenylenediamine (PPD) in commercial hair dyes."

Here is a study by the EU confirming that 2,5-Diaminotoluene is EXTREMELY CARCINOGENIC!!! -

DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT! Here is a Google Search set up for you to do your own research!

Kasia's Owners Scramble to Cover-Up Malicious & Dangerous Business Practices

AUTHOR: Man of Men - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, February 10, 2012
EVERYBODY SEE WHAT THE OWNER DID ABOVE? She posted twice in hopes that you wouldnt notice the line she took out - "Several components, including 2,5 Diamine Toluene Sulfate, in the dye pigments of Teinture performs the function of stabilizing the dyes." - THIS CHEMICAL IS A VERIFIED CARCINOGEN THAT IS USED TO SUBSTITUTE PPDs TO TRICK CONSUMERS!!! She is correct in saying it isnt a PPD, it is the cancer-causing substitute they use to trick gullible consumers who dont know the difference! Do you really want to go to a salon that says "No, it doesnt cause MUCH cancer!"

The owner of Kaisa then claims - "It is important for our guests and readers that there is no single PPD or PTD substitute in Teinture.  All the components together makes it work." - This is a BLATANT LIE from a DIRTY LIAR OF A SALESMAN! Here is a link PROVING 2,5 Diamine Toluene Sulfate, which Kaisa passionately defends and uses on all of their clients, is a both a SUBSTITUTE FOR PPD and CAUSES CANCER!!!!!

The owner then claims - "Kasia Organic stands in truth, and will not fault to mis-interpretation, uncredited claims, fake and staged pictures. " - It seems the owner is simply going to ignore the bad feedback coming in about her salon instead of improving any of it. Typical woman reaction. Ignore it and become furious at its existence until it stops bothering you :)

The owner then claims - "Our guests are very happy with our color line, and we attract clients with all sorts of allergic reactions, sensitivities, etc.  We are proud to use our color line, and will continue on our journey to great success of happy clients. " - Yes, you attract guests with PPD allergies because you advertise as being PPD free, but as we went over above, you are using the most popular PPD substitute which not only causes cancer but has a nearly identical chemical structure as PPD. You attract them, but then they go on Google Places and Rip Off Report and complain about how you nearly KILLED THEM! Are you just laughably ignorant, or completely oblivious?!

And then the owner finishes off with the Freudian slip - "I hope you can see through truth"...what a fool.

Anybody can look above and see that this company is toxic (in quite a literal way!). Thank god for the consumers coming in here and making sure that people have fair warning before signing their death warrant. I just feel bad for those that dont see these before-hand.

P.S. to the owner of Kaisa - Is it any surprise to you that you are being contacted to repair your salon's reputation? IT IS HORRIBLE!!! Almost every review is spelling out not only a bad experience, but a TRAUMATIZING EXPERIENCE!!!

Kasia DOES NOT have any PPD or PTD

AUTHOR: kassie - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, January 20, 2012

We DO NOT have any PPD or PTD ......  The PTD rumor again was from Organic Color System.

It is important for our guests and readers that there is no single PPD or PTD
substitute in Teinture.  All the components together makes it work.

If we single out one ingredient, competitive companies will find some way to discredit it.  It's really unfortunate how the Rip Off Report works.

As a business owner, I understand this is a 'free speech' forum, although, it is first and foremost a forum for competitors and motive...driven by money.   The "Reputation" internet services are growing daily, and as a owner, I get third party emails and phone calls all day to pay " just $1500 monthly " to hide the claims.

Kasia Organic stands in truth, and will not fault to mis-interpretation, uncredited claims, fake and staged pictures.

Our guests are very happy with our color line, and we attract clients with all sorts of allergic reactions, sensitivities, etc.  We are proud to use our color line, and will continue on our journey to great success of happy clients.

Hopefully we are all maturing to see through the power of the pocket book, persuasion, and truth.

Thank you -

Beware of PTDS

AUTHOR: Leslie - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, September 23, 2011

I feel very bad for this woman, many hair dressers have fallen victim to Mastey's "hyped up," and false marketing claims. As it has been stated, in order for PTDs to deliver results(instead of PPDS) about 120% more PTDs is needed than PPDs. Also, according to Skin Deep, both PPDs and PTDs are risky ingredients, but the biggest difference is you need even more PTDS than you do PPDs; therefore, clients could be worse off than before!

I truly hope Kasia and other salon owners that have been a pawn in Mastey's marketing game can redeem their professional integrity (hopefully by doing more research and taking on a safer, more reliable color line). There are many hair companies out there that are known for their transparency and wonderfully effective products, you just have to do the research. As a salon owner, I can say with the utmost sincerity, that I only want the BEST and SAFEST products for my clients. The extra couple hours I spend on the Internet  investigating ingredients and color companies has made me a better, well informed stylist/colorist.

The internet is a powerful tool! Put your clients first, do the research! And above all

Stay Away From Mastey

Simple Solution

AUTHOR: NaturallyOrganic - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, September 06, 2011

The simple solution is for the salon to stop carrying Mastey, as it is only the hair color that they receive complaints about. Again, it is not the customers or the salon owners fault, Mastey is a slimy company who engages in false advertising, and this salon was one of the ones who fell for it, at the expense of their clients who trust their advice.

Kasia's Organic Salon Has Received Many Bad Reviews

AUTHOR: NoMoreChemicals - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 23, 2011

If you look up Kasia's Organic Salon on other review websites, they have received other bad reviews, mainly because of their hair color. My guess is that they are contractually obligated to use it for some reason because people seem to like the place except for that. Maybe people should consider getting their hair colored at some other salon and going to Kasia's for other services?

Shame on us?!

AUTHOR: NaturallyOrganic - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 17, 2011

It isnt my fault, your fault, or even Kasia's fault. It is Mastey. They cant help what they are told. Mastey intentionally and blatantly lies about their ingredients, putting those sensitive to the toxic chemicals at a serious health risk. This salon needs to switch to a more organic color line and ditch the chemical-ridden Mastey. Then maybe invite back the victims of Mastey for free services, hoping they drop that class action lawsuit :-X

Hard to believe

AUTHOR: Susie - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, August 15, 2011

I just came from Kasia tonight with a beautiful hair color and no adverse reaction whatsoever. If I had to guesstimate, I have had about 12 or more color treatments with Kassie and I have never had one adverse reaction.

Keep in mind that people can have allergic reactions to natural ingredients and natural ingredients can also be toxic. For example, the highly toxic breast cancer chemotheapy treatment Taxol, is derived from a Yew tree. That is as natural as you can get folks!

I am sorry, but the picture of the woman with what looks likes ketchup or a bad halloween wound job  in her hair is simply not convincing to me whatsoever. It looks completely manufactured.

You people will stop at nothing to spread false rumors. Shame on you! Where is your integrity?

This is true.

AUTHOR: NaturallyOrganic - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, August 15, 2011

I am a salon owner and can tell you that this author is absolutely correct...Mastey employees should be thrown in jail for what they are tricking people into doing to their clients and themselves. You can see my long rant about this and how me and my Salon were almost sued in this Mastey Review, also on Ripoff Report.

They Have

AUTHOR: NoMoreChemicals - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 02, 2011

Unfortunately, as Kasia is well aware, Mastey Teinture contains outrageously high levels ofToluene Diamine (a.k.aToluene-2,5-Diamine and abbreviates as PTD) which is extraordinarily toxic to humans at the level contained in the color. The have the precise toxicity characteristics as PPD (commonly found in most permanent oxidative hair color) but products require several times more PTD to achieve the same amount of pigmentation as PPD.

If you are allergic to PPD's please do not listen to Kasia when she misrepresents her products and tells you that you will be safe with her garbage hair color. So many clients have been burned by this and the result is not pretty. Someone should launch an investigation against this irresponsible woman.

Don't let this woman harm your sister, mother, or daughters with her money grabbing, green washing, lying ways! Please join me in filing a complaint with the Minnesota Attorney General's Office to get this woman stopped.

Simply Not True

AUTHOR: Susie - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, February 01, 2011

This comment is obviously fabricated.

I have been a client of Kasia Organic Salon for over a year now and the results have been amazing!

Let me first state that Kassie and her team truly care about each of their clients and their health. Kassie is not a new kid on the block, she has researched every single product she carries in her salon with great detail; mostly because Kassie herself is allergic to the chemicals in salon products. I highly doubt she would want to put herself body into a toxic state again but exposing herself to damaging products.

I personally have received color treatments from Kasia Organic Salon and let me tell you, they are THE BEST color treatments I have EVER HAD. I have been getting my hair colored for over 20 years and this process is amazing. I am very chemically sensitive and was losing my hair and guess what, thanks to Kasia, that is not happening anymore.

Kassie is very well respected in the community and this fabricated report is obviously an attempt to pull down her success, passion and drive to help others that are suffering.

I could go on and on and on about the other amazing things Kasia does, but I think I have made my point here today.

Kasia Organic Salon Response

AUTHOR: kassie - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, September 02, 2010
We are happy to service a number of medical professionals that are
thoroughly happy with their services, but this poster Deb Coleman
has never been a client of Kasia.

We do not have record that we ever provided service to any
person by that name. She is probably related to the same
organization who showed us her posting and offered us to
keep it out of Google Search for a fee of $1,500 per month.

If someone is allergic to ammonia but
developed a rash after using an ammonia-free products,
this person is apparently reacting to compound(s) other than ammonia.

The compound(s) that trigger the reactions can be natural or it can
be an a plant-derived chemical. People develop reactions on many
different substances, including food stuff and things found in nature
that they usually do not know for sure and can only determine by
an medically trained Allergist doctor. Allergic reactions therefore
has nothing to do with either green-washing by any salons or the stylists'
professional integrity.

Kasia promotes an organic life-style by using products which
minimize the use of petrochemicals. This does not cure any particular
allergies because nothing will. Any person of common sense will not
think otherwise, let alone a "medical professional"!

We always tell our clients what products we will use in their service and
clients who have health issues such as allergies always want to find out
before hand. Why didn't this "medical professional" who has a history of
allergic reaction find out before hand but instead needed to "research the
issue further" after the service?
It is because she was never in the salon!

We have used this ammonia-free color product for 3 years and have developed
a very loyal client base of thousands. If it does not cover gray hair
perfectly, we would not be in business!

As for the research report put out by the so called "former head of FDA", it
is of course yet another scam. The scientific method it described simply
cannot identify specific chemicals. If it works, there would be no secret on
proprietary formulations such as Coke as any chemist can find out the
ingredients and reproduce the products.

Last but no least, please do not re-post or create URL links to her
posting or the "research report", as this will only give the
scam a wilder circulation on the internet, which is music to
the ear to these extortionists.
