In February I was advised that my original 20 yr diamond ring (from a local jeweler no longer in business) was beyond repair and I should look into new mounting options.  My husband thought he would surprise me and picked out a new bridal set to which my diamond would be mounted into.  We went in with my original ring of which they offered to take in trade & mount my original diamond into the new set.  The transaction was completed and at the end of the transaction we were advised that it would be 2 week turn around for the rings to be returned which I thought was an excessive amount of time.

The rings came in 2 weeks later and were not sized properly & the diamond was mounted improperly.  It was immediately returned and sent back out for another 2 weeks for repair.  After another 2 weeks the rings come back and initially looked ok.  After about a week of wearing these rings I started noticing excessive wear in the gold.  At this time my husband and I started looking around for different rings.  While at one jewelers, they offered to clean my rings for me stating they had to inspect them first.  Upon inspection it was discovered that my center stone was loose.  Assuming that the jeweler might just be trying to make a sale I said thank you and went to another jewler who stated the same thing.
I returned the rings after 17 days of having them.  The "shocked" Kay's rep assured me that all of the defects could be fixed but it would have to be sent out again for another 2 weeks to which I replied "Not a chance".  They issued a credit to my account & sent the rings out for my stone to be extracted & returned - (yep 2 weeks to do that too).  I was also told at the time of return that my trade in would be returned to me around the time that the stone came back.
It has now been a month and I have yet to see the trade in.  After several calls to the store and being given different info each time I went to corporate customer care.  After 3 phone calls with them I was advised that it would be in the store for this past Wednesday.  Well it is now Friday and the store says they have not received it and have no record of it being sent out.

I am now starting proceedings to get them to re-imburse me for this mounting that no one seems to know its whereabouts.  I am being told that they will not re-imburse me - we will see about that.  I have no problem standing outside their store all weekend and telling anyone who walks through their doors that they are thieves and not to purchase from them.  This is a horrible company that sells sub-standard jewelry and rips customers off on a daily basis.
