We bought a lot off these people off Ebay. They advertised a "Tropical Paradise" in Hawaii showing pictures as well. When we went to visit the property it was more of a "drug haven"....Actual words from a local real estate agent! There were derilict abandon cars on the dirt road that was to be paved. Houses were in great need of repair. There was even a gate across the main road stating "Keep Out". The value of the lot was 1/4 of the price on Ebay. (We only bid on the downpayment.) The pictures they used on Ebay were fraud.. and not actual. The actual piece of property was totally different. After being confronted with it they claimed everything was right and we never heard from them again. This was definite REAL ESTATE FRAUD! WE ARE OUT THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS *BEWARE*!!!!!

Re: Property purchase ( rebuttal to "rip-off" allegation)

AUTHOR: keith - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, March 19, 2013

The property advertised was indeed the exact property shown, and the lot was as shown and as described. Notice that the buyer does NOT state that I did not indeed own the lot, and that it was for sale, and at a VERY reasonable price!

This purchaser complains about "the neighborhood", and mentions some "comments" made by some "real estate agent" !! For her information, I can only sell the lot I OWN.....what would make me responsible for the condition of the entire area?? Huh??

If other homes may need repair, how does that make my sale of a vacant lot a "rip -off"?? The purchaser of the property was Bonnie Grolemund. She put a down payment on a 8,500 Sq, Ft. Vacant Lot, total purchase price was about $12,000,

and the lot has electric, gravel road ( never stated it was paved ), and can build on it, located on Big Island in Hawaii.  That works out to $1.50 per Square Foot! For Fee Simple Lot in Hawaii! At the price of Ceramic tiles per suare foot!!

Actually a very beautiful area, I guess she forgot to mention several very nice homes also in the neighborhood, and that the gravel road connected to the main paved road about 100 yards away! She defaulted on the purchase NOT ME!

Did she think she was buying a rural undeveloped vacant lot, for a reasonable $12,000, or did she actually expect DiamondHead Villa!!??!!  She wanted to buy whiskey on a beer budget!

The lot was actually just fine, this person is just nuts, and expects the seller of real estate to "guarantee" all sorts of neighborhood "issues" she has, which are simply not the responsibility of the seller in a real estate transaction.

There was no misrepresentation, no wrongdoing, and certainly no "rip-off" by me against anyone. She's lucky I don't sue her for publicly slandering me without any basis.
